How many of you living in or around Birmingham have ever:
1) attended a single UAB game
2) attended more than one UAB game
3) regularly attended UAB games (one or more per year)
Thanks in advance. Just trying to see how many among us that care so much about UAB have ever shown the slightest care for UAB prior to the past week.

So bama fans won't melt hard over a loss, but when it comes to UAB, they go in full melt down mode?

So someone has to be a UAB fan or support their program financially to be able to say that it's sad their program was shut down? gotcha

Bama fans aren't in melt mode, we're in response and defense mode.
Take a look around. It's quite obvious nobody around here gives a shite what goes on at UAB except for LSU and Auburn fans - because they hate big bad bammer and are looking for ways to take a dig at UA's football program in any way possible.

I HAD season tickets until this bullshite. There is nothing I loved more than watching my beloved Blazers play football.

I mean, this is true, except that we don't care about UAB either. Also, we hate you because you destroy landmarks and kill people over football games, mostly.

Not at all. I'm sad for the kids. I hate it for the coaches. It's a bad situation all the way around. My point is that it could have been avoided if all these people who are so passionate about UAB today would have had any passion or concern for them prior to this situation and actually, you know, supported the team in any way shape or form.
I would expect someone from Nashville, Atlanta, New Orleans etc to feel bad for these kids today. UAB has been irrelevant to them prior to recent events. That said, if you live in Bham and are complaining about UAB now then you are part of the problem. You could have done something to prevent this.
People complaining now who never or very rarely attended a game are like the people who didn't bother to vote but bitch about the outcome of the election.

I attended UAB and didn't go to one game

Said, apparently, almost no one ever or else program wouldn't be closing.

Are you responding to me?
I agree with you, what is happening is sad and it is ridiculous that one's mans grudge led to the BoT preventing a football program from ever getting the chance to be successful.
I am just not sure why bama fans feel the need to melt over something a few people decided.

Thanks for the honesty. I bet you are more likely the rule than the exception. I have tons of friends who grew up in Bham area and attended UAB. On Saturdays you could find them in Tuscaloosa or AU while they were students and that's exactly where you find them (and their money) on Saturdays now that they're professionals.

No, I was responding to the OP. Everything he listed is completely irrelevant.

And the ONLY reason you care is because of big bad bammer that you hate so bad. If it were a directional school in Tennessee or Georgia, you people wouldn't give a shite and you know it.
Patton nailed it in his Proxy Melt thread. It's pathetic.

It sucks that the program is shutting down and it does affect a ton of people, but they don't have a good product... Although they seemed to be building upon something this year... That's the one thing I couldht understand, it seemed like the program kinda started looking up this season...

It's pathetic that we're using the actions of your people against you?
How? It's a rivalry, dude.

No, I actually find this all interesting.
I had not realized until yesterday reading on reddit that to BoT prevented UAB from hiring Jimbo, attempting to put a stadium on campus to generate more revenue and interest (and move away from shitty Legion Field), and also even stopped them from receiving private donations.
But of course, a Bama fan would make it about them. I for one can see that this isn't Bama's fault. Saban and the AD could give 2 shits about UAB.
