They should wait until Thursday night or Friday to decide, but this is Greg Stankey running the show. He will let Bama and UGA ADs play tug of war. Will probably postpone and it’ll be a perfect night in Tuscaloosa, just like Gainesville a few years ago.

There is likely rain and wind but no way in hell it's still a hurricane by the time it gets to Tuscaloosa. Not even certain it will be hurricane strength when it make initial landfall. Probably 50/50 at this point but it is possible it strengthens. We'll see.

Everyone is scared of getting sued.
They had a fishing tournament where it was foggy when they started. A couple boats ran into each other killed someone and now the tournament organizers are being sued because they didn't call it off. That's why they don't play when there is bad weather anymore
When the choice is putting people in harms way or lose money and any entity chooses not to lose money they made their choice. Employers once upon a time made that choice regularly without any ramification beyond finding an employee to replace the one they killed. If an individual is running late to work and decides to drive 100 MPH to avoid losing some money and they kill someone that someone's family is probably going to sue and rightfully so.

At some point personal responsibility comes into play. The boaters for instance could have used common sense and stayed onshore. If a sporting event is given information that a storm wont be severe and proceed then it's up to the individual to make their own choice.

The boaters certainly could, if the organizer is found to be culpable some of that will be due to them having offered a financial inducement for the boaters to use poor judgement....and the organizer has more to lose than the individual boaters because the organizers most likely have more money than individuals.
