Cowbells are terrible tradition. I would prefer to actually hear crowd noise versus bell noise.

I would estimate that there are only about 20k bells in the stadium. I don't take mine and a huge majority of my friends don't. If we continue to ring like we did saturday, we will be fine because we didnt ring with the center over the ball. We yelled. I do disagree that the stadium is as loud as places like tiger stadium though. Its just not the same, mainly because the stands are so freakin far away. But the atmosphere has been great this year.

Our Stadium is further away from the field than most stadiums? Really? We need to do something about that. Can we?

Eventually the rules for artificial noisemakers will lift for other schools/stadiums, or be enforced on everybody.

I didn't realize our stadium was further away from the field than other stadiums. That sucks.

Bull fricking shite.

Anytime there was a big 3rd down the cowbells didn't stop ringing from the moment they huddled up until the 3rd down play was over.

Say what you want but it's bullshite that you get to ring those things. When yall come to Oxford this year I hope they don't allow a single fricking one in the stadium.

You do realize it's human nature to overrate recent experiences at the expense of past experiences, right? It's not like someone can remember decibel levels from games ten years ago. Instead, recent games seem more exciting/loud/whatever while other games are forgotten (or, alternatively, memorialized a certain way and people convince themselves that they remember better than they actually do).

Loudest sustained noise for a sporting event in U.S. and possibly world history occurred December 2, 1989.

And it seriously isn't really isn't even close.

At least not in the U.S. Not sure about some foreign soccer games.

I didn't say your team was a HS team. Just your stadium.

The responses are typical human behavior overreacting. The stadium was loud and impressive. The cowbells were not a problem and I have watched MSU be more irresponsible than last Saturday. No way it was the loudest game or stadium ever.
