The Ref did not call Pass Interference, he specifically called HOLDING, they are just trying to cover their butts.

This. Has a penalty call ever been reversed previously under these circumstances?

No, Kirby said it was holding. The official called pass interference. Either way both are non reviewable calls.

Something that has never happened previously so far as I know. So in your face. It was openly contemptuous of what is just bringing yet more disgrace to NCAA officiating and especially that of the thoroughly corrupt SEC. They have no shame.

It doesn’t appear, it’s what happened. It’s been said multiple times already. The ball was moved, chains set and UGA ready to snap the ball.

I'm not willing to say the referees changed the call because of the students behavior. I played WR and I will tell you in my opinion there was no foul committed. The reverse call was correct, but the timing was suspect, at best.

But, they didn't review it. Review means they go to a camera and rewatch the video. They did not do that. Flags have been waved off before, but not typically that long after a call is made. The lapse in time and the behavior of the Texas student body is what makes the reversal concerning.

Typical arrogance from the figs in asstin, you should’ve stayed in the Big XII rather than following us to this conference.
This is EXACTLY why we left the Big XII and wanted nothing to do with your university!!

Pathetic

Well you’re wrong. That’s the point, bad calls get made all the time.

It was a bad call on the penalty, but they enforced it. They moved the chains and Georgia was lined up with the ready to play signal. Texas students throw trash on the field, delaying the game. After that dust settles, they announce it wasn't a penalty after all.

No they didn't review it because it's a non reviewable call. However they can discuss it before the call is made and yes they can pick up the flag and wave it off. That has been done before. What you are not getting is that once they make the official call on a non reviewable penalty they can not reverse it. If they were going to wave off the penalty, they had to do it before the official announced it.

Anyone who watches the replay can see our DB never had his head turned away from the ball, and contact between receiver and defender happened at the same time...never should have been called PI.

That said I don't think it's good to overturn calls like that, (didn't even know it's reviewable?) and our drunken students were doing what drunken students do...and all Texas fans I know were embarrassed by that.

In any case that call didn't change the course of the game, Georgia beat our vaunted O-line and the rest is history. If Beck and his receivers get their shite together I can't see any team beating Georgia from here on.

Not really. It does not become "official" until the next play is run.
Again, I have no problem with them reversing the penalty since it was an incorrect call, in my opinion. It was the timing of it and the way it was handled. I am a vindictive kind of person....if i had been an official, I probably would have let the call stand just based on the way the fans reacted. It's not a good look to reverse a call after poor behavior is displayed. It appears (whether it is true or not) that their behavior influenced the officials to change the call.

So, it is your opinion that the call was changed because the students threw water bottles onto the field?
