I haven't heard Merlins mentioned anywhere with our coaching search outside of here if it puts you more at ease.

State hired Merlins when no one was looking at Merlins. He has built his program from the ground up with red shirts and dept.
State is one year away from breaking through....His wife loves Starkville and is not leaving. He will be at state for a long time. Money is of no issue. The cost of living in Starkville is the lowest of the SEC schools. His $2 Mill salary is like $4 Mill anywhere else.

Honestly man...I wouldn't be concerned.
I've heard chatter too but I think it's all just vicarious grinding.
