You realize that we made the flag decision over 10 years ago right? Sorry you guys are late to that party.
Did you though? Did you really though?

Yeah it flies in two places. Both are ROTC buildings because it has to by law, otherwise we took it down in the early 2000's. The flag isn't flown otherwise, the city of Starkville actually doesn't fly it at all.

Jerseys are good, the pants logo just ruins it for me.

Would love to. Its been 12 years since the Great Nike debacle. I wonder if they will forgive us. We were playing Oregon in Starkville in September Mississippi heat. Nike made a big announcement and provided cooling uniforms to Oregon that actually hooked up to machines and ran water through them to cool players down faster. Sherrill went apeshit and blamed Nike for giving them an unfair advantage. Basically publicly canceled our contract with Nike. Under Armour wasn't around, adidas was just really getting into football. We went with Russell Athletic during the Croom years. adidas came on with Mullen. They've definitely been hit and miss.
I had never heard of this.
Found an obscure article after some unfruitful searches.
Interesting I'm curious as to why this isn't implemented more or similarly currently.

In addition to the school's traditional home green and road white uniforms, the Ducks will introduce a third uniform option to its game-day apparel, which will consist of a lightning yellow jersey and pant. Although other of the university's intercollegiate athletic programs have utilized yellow as part of their uniform wardrobe, it is believed to be the first time Oregon's football team has added a yellow jersey to its look.
In addition to the aesthetics alterations, the new jersey will offer Oregon athletes a tighter fit yet provide greater elasticity to aid in a wider range of motion. A vent also is incorporated in the upper panel in the back of the jersey to promote additional air circulation underneath the players' equipment, while a velcro element will be included in the shoulders of the jersey to help alleviate slippage between the jersey and shoulder pads. Away uniform Each of the three different styles of game pants will utilize a lighter weight of fabric than the past and is designed to retain less moisture than its predecessors.
Yet the most technological innovation incorporated within the uniform revision revolves around a patent-pending cooling vest offered to players, with the system relying on humidity-free compressed air pumped into the vest to decrease the body temperature of players in order to combat fatigue and enhance performance. The feature is designed to cool and dry the upper body of players where the greatest moisture and heat is retained

Yeah they used it and didn't offer it to State. The game was in August or September and it was hot as hell.
I like to think that Jackie piled up all the Nike shite and burned it before the game.

After the decision on the Starkville campus about the flag, I'm not surprised.
Really? So a public state university in Mississippi continues to fly the official state flag is shocking to you?
Look I really dont care if they change the flag since it was not the original flag to be gin with, but until they do I do not have any problem with flying the flag. We are Mississippi State and do not have all the racist issues that Ole Miss does I guess.

How come Ole Miss went to the long three stripes on the shoulders after LSUs uniforms. The stripes used to be just on the shoulders but now they go down under the armpits

frick Nike. Their shite looks like arse and they produce an inferior product. I would be pissed if we sold out for brand alone, our Adidas contract is great for us.
Nike looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Adidas.

Financially maybe but they have ruined your uniforms along with a lot of other schools.
Yep!

The stripes used to make a complete circle.

As a State fan, I think Ole Miss has the best unis in the nation.
Dude is just trolling.

Having an opinion and trolling are two different things.
Like how it's your opinion they are the best in the nation which I totally don't get, but to each their own.

With the exception of the late 1990s and early 2000s, OM and LSU have the exact same shoulder stripe style

I'm as far from an OLE MISS fan as possible, but their white unis with grey pants are top 3 in football

Objectively, the interlocking old logos aren't as strong— the interlocking logo has too much visual movement within itself. The interlocking elements kind of take away from the solidarity of the elements within the logo. Compare it to the Nike swoosh, Apple logo, or BP circle (done by Landor Assoc.)
What makes college sport logos effective is a unique, powerful, and iconic presence (Bama, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, Duke); I think you could make the argument that the MSU interlocking logo is a generic in that a lot of interlocking logos look like it (baseball ones especially). I don't think it does enough to be unique to offset it's design deficiency or lack of unique brand identity.
I think the interlocking logo is good, though, in the aspect that it has a traditional vibe to it that people are drawn to, but as far as a brand, the power M is better.

I loved the patch that represented the specific college that the student athlete was enrolled in. Arts and Sciences, Education, Business, etc.
That's actually really cool
