re: State fans won't like this (because it involves numbers and complicated thought)

Well you're not. Sorry, skirp.

Final scores and records, only two that matter.
Yes, but in a game that hasn't yet happened, you can use other statistics to predict the outcome.
Dolt.

You've spent your entire morning searching for an obscure college football rating website that uses a "different metric rating system" to accumulate a measure of college football rankings?
Spent my entire morning? I've been reading this site for the entire football season. I think it was linked here earlier.
Whatever. You're clearly mad.

Fan of the site myself. However, 7 games is too small of a sample size for those statistics to mean anything. Advanced metrics are only useful with a dataset that is sufficiently large (i.e. Evidence of the benefits of going for 4th down more often)
That then adds a level of difficulty to determining how good someone is in a season that lasts only 12 games.
I never said it was perfect. I just said it was an interesting look at things. I actually brought it out because engie in another thread started beating his (excruciatingly tiny) dick over your "top ten scoring defense" or whatever, which caused me to say "hold up, you've played SHITTY football teams" and bust out this metric.
Agreed, all statistics are flawed. These, in my view, are definitely more interesting than the traditional ones.

Let me get this straght, you used stats to prove that we are still better than you? Got it!
Not quite.

It's nearly impossible to quantify things like putting in the second string early because we're scared as hell of injuries, and taking the foot off the gas in the first quarter.
We could have beat UK by 40, but didn't, etc.

So, a couple of State guys gangbanged your girl and she liked it?
I'm actually asexual. I don't reproduce and have no desire to do so. Your quips about "my girl" or my supposed homosexuality (undeniably an insult of choice for fans of "The People's University") mean nothing to me.
God damn y'all are fricking mad. You're not the 12th best team in the country. You just aren't. Alabama will beat you by 20 this weekend. Deal with it.

Well in December I will have a degree in both Mechanical and Industrial Engineering so it was worth a shot.

I agree that 12 sounds lofty...but looking at the polls, I don't know who i would put up there in front of MSU though. All the teams in the teens and 20s have their flaws. I think the Dogs could beat or lose to pretty much all those guys. It is all about the match ups. I think we have a pretty solid team, will lose to the best team in the country this weekend by 20+ points.
