Screw it. I got time

GT:
Champs: 1
Runner up: 3
Final Four: 5
Elite 8: 9
Sweet 16: 11

Ark
Champs:1
Runner up: 1
Final Four: 6
Elite 8: 10
Sweet 16: 10

If those aren't damn similar then I don't know what is.

I was responding to the comment that Gtown is in worse shape/similar status to the current state of Arkansas basketball

GTown has made 8/11 NCAAT and a final four in past ~decade. Arkansas barely sniffs the tournament

Edit: I agree about how Arkansas has fallen off and saying GTown is an example of where their floor should be given GTown wants to fire JT3

Yeah, I got that. I would only say Houston and UNLV are in worse spots that us.

But I've had conversations with casual sports fans that would never have thought Arkansas was of any importance in basketball but know the success of Georgetown and Houston bc of Phi Slama Jama and Allen Iverson.

That's a big win for State, and on Arkansas' home floor too, which I would not expect.....

I'm not near old enough to know who that is. I'm not even old enough to know Ewing prior to the NBA. But Arkansas does get a bum rap bc they've never had that superstar next level player in the league.

Iverson is arguably the least likely to be connected with GTown of their superstars

You definitely are old enough for Dikembe Mutombo swatting people in Geico commercials and wagging his finger
Georgetown pumped out hall of fame big men year after year after year it seemed like

JT is John Thompson their iconic coach who started Hoya Paranoia

Didn't even register when you said JT. But yeah I'm well aware of their big guys. Wasn't old enough to see them play but every NCAA tourney comes with a good chunk of TV time to show off their exploits. Reed still gets about the second to show the miracle shot and I almost never hear mention of "triplets" anymore. It's sad to know that the team you love was once such a big part of the sport. Now it's almost like they don't exsist.

Arkansas basketball is like Nebraska football, once proud and now an afterthought in the conversation most years

I was trying to be nice.

Nebraska football >>>> Arkansas basketball in their peak

Not a diss but people forget just how damn good they were considering they fell off a cliff

If Arkansas by miracle rattled off a CFP title they would still be considered an outlier. Arkansas by its very nature is a home brand and nobody is jumping on the bandwagon. But for the state, they were it in college BB and no blue blood team wanted to come against them in the tourney. Nowadays they are a welcome thought to anyone.
