My point is no one ever bitches except when Bama's on top. Bama's up and UT's down right now. That's no reason to end what is historically the most significant rivalry in SEC history.

Stop bitching.

It's pure jealousy because of those crystal balls and the fact that media and fans see Bama as unstoppable in the foreseeable future. Bama's not unstoppable but y'all have been the best lately.

UT also plays BAMA and Florida (plus UGA and SC) and when we had a good coach it only made us stronger. Miles needs to look at things that way. It's not as though he hasn't beaten BAMA before either.

Spurrier whining. Honestly, never figured him for the type.

That said, I don't care, I just want the rivalry to remain intact. That said, Alabama would likely be playing 2 BCS OOC games a year, as would Tennessee. Would the other schools be willing to beef up their OOC schedules to match? ;p

I wish Tennessee would get good again. I'm tired of everyone bitching about how Bama plays cupcakes when in reality, Alabama plays a hell of a schedule in any other given period of time say 80's or 90's in this format. I'm glad Tennessee and Ole Miss got good coaches to help them return to a solid program. Just imagine how strong the West would be if Ole Miss became a perennial powerhouse.

It is quite incredible to hear everyone talk about how the SEC West is the greatest division in college football and then turn around and say one of the teams in that division has an easy schedule.

Honestly if it was anyone besides Bama, this would never be an issue. Bama plays an SEC schedule. Amazing that people can say that it's easy

2 things.

1. Even if our schedule is just a 2-3 game schedule, the two teams we play would EASILY destroy about 99% of the other 100 or so programs. Both are now NC contenders every year and just 2 years ago, the top 3 in the west............were actually the top 3 teams in the nation

2. The only reason people call them cupcakes IS because they are in the bottom few in the West. Hell, you could say that on any given year, ALL of the teams that are there would go about 9 games in a few other conferences. They are cupcakes because they usually play 5 teams that are worthy of national championship contention.

So frick you cupcake hate train bandwagoners

Easy schedule compared to its biggest rival. That is what most people are saying. Not a "easy" schedule.

But yea yalls schedule is a joke this year.

I don't know of any Bama fans that don't agree with this. But honestly GA is the only team in the east with a legit shot at beating LSU. LSU should have never lost to Florida last year with an offense that bad. This is not the same Florida under Tebow or the same Florida of the 90's. Some fans are making more out of Florida than what should be. They will become a great team again but I don't know if Muschamp is the coach to get them there..

Even if it's the easiest schedule in the SEC, that still means it's the 14th hardest schedule in the entire country. Right?

I guess the SEC West is just terrible. I mean, LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss?

We might as well be playing Idaho every week right?

Also, Bama probably has the best regular season OOC over the last 6 years. We've played a ranked BCS OOC opponent in the regular season every single year since 08. Has any other SEC team done that? Serious uestion

It's pretty much saying the West is badazz in one sentence and then saying the West sucks in the other.

From the final Coaches Poll (Jan):

1. Alabama (13–1) West
4. Georgia (12–2) East
5. Texas A&M (11–2)West
7. South Carolina (11–2) East
10. Florida (11–2) East
12. LSU (10–3) West
20. Vanderbilt (9–4) East

That's 3 schools from the West in the top 20/top 25 alongside 4 schools from the East (and Vandy wasn't going to upset any of the top 3 West schools). That looks a whole lot like conference parity to me. Even if you take away LSU's loss to Florida you're still looking a tough schedule and Bama going on to rep the West in the SEC Championship.

As to this coming season...

LSU drew a tough schedule this year with UGA and Florida, no doubt about that, but that's piss poor luck. UT playing Oregon this year is also piss poor luck but that was scheduled long ago. A&M has the 2nd easiest schedule this year behind Bama but is anyone complaining about A&M's easy ride? When looking at the actual games I don't see a real difference between BAMA and A&M's schedules.

UT and LSU face 5 opponents ranked in the preseason top 25 although I'd say TCU which LSU faces is miles away from UT having to play Oregon as I see TCU more as an underdog/media darling that still needs to earn its stripes by playing great teams but that's just my opinion. Arky is in the same boat drawing 5 as is UK. Except where LSU is solid UT is rebuilding, Arky is trying to find itself and rebuild and UK has never been able to break away from being a basketball school.

A&M and Bama, on the other hand, face 2 preseason top 25 opponents but again these are luck o' the draw save for the lack of a serious OOC team scheduled and USC showed how most preseason rankings are worthless in the most dramatic way possible.

Nobody wants to end the most significant rivalry in the SEC--heaven forbid.

How about this? Just don't count it or any other permanent opponent games towards divisional titles.

The SEC gets to keep its most significant rivalry in the SEC, and any possible imbalance due to the permanent opponent rule automatically vanishes.

Tell me where I am wrong?
