It's all about timing. What coach will be available when Spurs finally comes home? No one knows.

Saban won't go to SCe. He'll go to Mississippi State and win a title just to piss everyone else off. Then he'll retire.

I hope not. I mean our offense was night and day better when it was known that Skip was calling the plays as opposed to Lou. I know he had some success at ECU but he has not done too well in his first 3 seasons at USF.

Highly doubtful...no one is lighting a candle in USC's window for Skip these days....

If not Skip, then whoever UGA or Bama's offensive coordinator is at the time.

Spurrier and Stoops are tight. You think he will be at Oklahoma forever. It's just an off the wall name, not predicting it.

No offense to SC, but Stoops has turned down UF twice and probably would've a third time if Urban had stayed "retired" the first time.

It'll be Bubba (Spurrier, Jr.) ... he's being groomed for it, has had five kids here in ColaTown, his wife is big at USC's School of Nursing and he loves Columbia and the state of SC as well.

Bubba already has two MNC rings, one while at Oklahoma and one while at Florida. He's served under some good coaches, done his time as an assistant, been loyal here and he wants the job.

Bubba and Tanner are also good buddies.

Goes to show how little you know. Skip Holtz is not well liked around here and his wife Jenn is even less well-liked. Neither of them are welcomed here.

No it's not ... timing is not the issue here.

Spurrier signed a contract through 2017. The plan is to build it up some more, recruit some more (Bubba is now the recruiting coordinator as well), and get it ready to hand-off to Bubba.

Bubba is the one making all the relationships work with the high school coaches in-state. Bubba is the one doing all the low key community work. Bubba is the one digging in roots around here - Missy and him.

Bubba has his skin from Duke, his Masters from Florida and is working on a second Masters here at SC.

Did I mention the coaching stint he did with Stoops at AZ before bailing on him to come to Carolina with his Dad?

So he has 18 yrs under his belt as an assistant under his Dad and the two Stoops brothers.

Bubba is well-respected by all of his fellow assistants as well.

So I take it back roadGator, timing is an issue here but they have a time in mind and are working towards it - the SOS intends to leave a legacy here of not just building a winner, but leaving a winning program in place that is capable of continuing his legacy.

All of that is my biased opinion anyways and based upon what little inside information I have.

It all depends on who's available and the timing. A person who might appear to be a great choice right now, might be an awful choice in 4 years.

Whenever the time comes, we'll be "selling" a winning, well financed, heavily supported program with a national championship level coach as the AD, and new-ish facilities.

We'll attract a top tier coach whenever that time comes. Although, we'll have to probably compete with Tennessee b/c they go through coaches like hookers.

And yet, he's still a WR coach.

Thanks, scrooster. It's been a while since an asshat "insider" came in talking down to everyone and acting like he knows what's "really going on".

I was beginning to miss this.

So if USClite and Tenn vacancies come open at the same time, who makes the better hire? are you capable of outclassing their hire like arkansas did this time around?

You call that "talking down to everyone?" lulz

Maybe I am an asshat "insider," I dunno. We'll see I guess. It's really just more scuttlebutt and what I hear on the golf course, at the meetings and functions and in the Cockaboose than anything ... nothing really asshat "insider," in all honesty.

Sorry that your dick is so tiny that you interpreted it as asshat insider stuff and it threatened you in some way. I think I was pretty clear that it was my biased opinion and based upon my "limited insider" information.
