What the frick is the deal with Ohio State's schedule strength? Several lists now have their slate rated high. Cannot be.

What? That doesn’t even make sense

It does. SoS is about how difficult your schedule was, it's not about how well you did against that schedule (that's a SoR argument).

For instance, MSU- sparty type- (according to the CFP Committee's contracted service) is the #1 SOS in college football. They are also a very bad football team who only hurt other team's SoSs.

thank god that somebody softened up Arkansas and A&M for Bama, if not they would have lost for sure. two unranked teams and Bama beats them by a total of 9 points! lol oh yah, playoffs for sure.

It’s call a SOS ranking. As in strength of schedule ranking. Lol

I think it's dumb that 3 CFP-contending teams are in the 60s. No shite, they're undefeated.

Great talent vs. shite schedules.

How a 1-loss Oregon is ahead of UTx and, arguably, even Bama is just dumb.

Yep. Committee decided several weeks ago that a PAC 12 team is getting in the playoffs as evidenced by the fact they have kept Oregon ahead of Bama and Texas evern with a softer schedule.

I'm not that guy, and I regret the following. WTF are you not understanding about a SoS ranking or my off hand comment made in jest?

#26 Michigan

I call bull shite.

Yep. Michigan had one of the easiest schedules in the country. This list loses all credibility with Michigan at #26. They literally played one team with a pulse. And don't say they "they played Penn State too" because everybody knows Penn State sucks. They would be a mid-pack SEC team but they're 3rd in the BIG

I've said it for weeks. Never has the Pac had so much love in the CFP era. It is a send off year.

uTx crushes Oregon in SoS and SoR. It's genuinely rigged.

If Oregon wins tonight and the Committee actually applied their espoused logic, they should be very nervous about a Bama or UTx champ. But, they won't be because it's predetermined

Yet, it remains the one in front of the committee.

I'd like to see the committee add 2 football analysts (voting on statistical analysis) and a one retired book maker who could analyze and articulate who would be favored in a matchup.

I would like to know how SportSource provides the data. Is it maxed out per category for isolated looks?

Is it a combo of stats based on a SportSource analyst preference?

Can the committee alter it to their preference?

Small changes make big diffeeneces if you play around with the basic and advanced features.

Updated SoS rankings
Bama makes big jump after UGA game from 18 to 4.

#2 UTx
#4 Bama
#7 Wahington - should be #1 in final poll, but they won't be. At least they'll get the FSU bye week first round game and avoid UTx
#10 USCe
#12 LSU
#14 tOSU
#18 UF
#19 OU
#23 Mizzou
#25 State
#27 Michigan
#28 Vandy
#31 AU
#38 ole miss
#42 UTk
#48 aggie
#50 UGA (not the worst in the SEC anymore)
#51 UK (played Bama, UGA, Mizzou, and Louisville - head-scratcher; how bad was the rest of the schedule)
#52 Arky
#64 FSU (they just keep finding ways to win - - no shite; they played no one)
