I wasn't the one making the statement that LSU would never beat A&M, your head coach was the one that made the statement that in there current incarnations it was an insurmountable task. If I was an LSU fan I would be mad at my administration for moving forward on that premise. I would have told my head coach to beat A&M if he didn't want to start 0-1. Obviously the administration at the time felt that was easier said than done.

I think, IMO, LSU has managed to do quite well for themselves since those days (including beating aTm easily 3 times) while aTm hyas struggled mightily. So mightily that it required running away from your big brother and conference.
