2 out of the 4 criteria are subjective: Noise and Aesthetics. I don't really disagree with Bama being 5th in noise. But, 4th in aesthetics is retarded. Sanford is the only one that could be ranked ahead of BDS in aesthetics....maybe. Ben Hill Griffin at 2? I understand there's some character there, but that place is still ugly.

Broken windows probably added to it as well.

When they close that south endzone it'll help.

those aesthetics rankings make no sense. UF stadium looks like a dump from the outside and isn't much better inside either.

agree. UGA's stadium is too blah as far as aesthetics are concerned. Great stadium, don't get me wrong. Noise...you can't argue LSU and Flor as #1-2. Aesthetics...you gotta go with bama and tenn.

worse, imo. The "roman coliseum" look of the lower bowl is fantastic. the new west upper looks like a first grade crayon drawing.

agreed. i like the lower tier because you can actually see the growth of the stadium via add-ons over the years. the outer facade of the west upper does not mesh at all with the lower tier.

I will disagree with UT being 3rd in noise. Auburn and Alabama are both louder. Vol fans remind me of Bama fans from the 90s and early 2000s. Sitting on our hands, getting loud for some 3rd downs late in the game, etc.

Alabama has changed. I think all the losing combined with a more prominent and active student section, bigger stadium, a kill off of the old guard, and a head coach that calls for noise has put Alabama in the top 3 loudest stadiums in the SEC. Saying that, we trail LSU and UF by a long ways. As does the rest of the world.

I'll even take my obvious biased out of it and with no regrets say that Auburn is by far louder than UT. I have been to J-H at least 15 times. I have been to Neyland 8 times. Auburn runs laps around UT.

Within the next year, using their rankings, Alabama could jump as high as number 3 in my opinion. You are adding 9000 more people, which will put us at 2nd in capacity. I think we can easily jump J-H and Neyland in noise. The aesthetics ranking is a joke.

I think keeping us out of the top 3 is a joke.

That list is shite.

There's no way Razorback Stadium is the 8th best looking in the conference.

Our stadium is beautiful inside and out.

I've never been to Neyland, hoping to g this fall, but you don't really hear people talk about the noise at UT games that much. Everyone I know that watched the Auburn/LSU game this fall (and most weren't fans of either team) said that JH was the loudest crowd they had heard on a televised game in a long long time.

That place can get really loud.

I think the thing that hurts J-H and Auburn is the obvious change in crowd from a big time night game to the 11:30 game. There have been several times that Auburn hasn't sold the place out. There are morning games that you'll see big chunks of empty seats.

There is no doubt in my mind that when Auburn fans bring it, they are one the loudest places on the face of the Earth. Great place to watch a game.

There's no way it would make it look worse. Both upper decks stretch a little ways into the south endzone. One stretches a little more than the other. The north part of the upper decks are even and don't stretch into the north endzone at all. It's just off balance and if the south endzone is closed it would put it back in balance.

ETA: I didn't realize this had been fixed. I haven't been in TS since '06 and if it was fixed then, I just didn't notice it. I still think it would look better completely closed in on that endzone.

I agree. That is one reason in the last couple of years Auburn turned down the opportunity to be on J-P, like with the Ole Miss game in 2007, because they felt like they had been having too many early games.

One problem is that a large majority of Auburn fans drive over day of the game so they don't have to spend money to stay overnight. The downside of that is, if you are coming from Atlanta (huge AU alumni base) you have to leave the house by 9:00 at the latest to get there, get parked and get in to see the eagle fly. If you are coming from Mobile or Huntsville you end up having to leave even earlier.

Yeah that makes it look kinda crazy, from the air.

Seriously, all these rankings on these blog sites are just meant to drive traffic to the blogs. Sometimes I wonder if these bloggers have actually traveled or if they get all of their information from the internet.

Of course a preference for aesthetics is entirely subjective. I prefer fall to summer and mountains to beach, blondes to brunettes, and there are many who would disagree completely.

I agree. I think its the same thing that hurts Auburn basketball.

It takes me 40 minutes to get to Hoover and I live in Northport. A ton of people make the drive down from Northwest Alabama to Tuscaloosa. Plus we just simply have a bigger fanbase. It's an advantage.

Our stadium can get loud if we're winning. But we have too many geezers on the West side.
