Perhaps that Barn player can sue Uga for trying to bite him, though Statute of Limitations has likely run out. Sue dead Woody Hayes as well. Sue the Stanford Band for being on the field.

You sound dumb.

Sometimes I really hate the youth these days. He touched me - I'm going to sue!

A cop shoulder checked and then went after an athlete. That shouldn’t be okay.

This is a SC lawyer trying to get a settlement payday from the State of Texas. This is stupid but not surprising at all.

Yeah, maybe you’re right. Lawyers get paid either way.

Better send my kids to law school.

Calm down Nancy. You seem like you got a little hard watching a cop cheap shot an athlete. Compensating?

Why not file suit?

Because it's a waste of taxpayer money. Some bad lawyer with little income talked him into a "you only pay if we win" thing. We all doubt what was done would rise to the level of assault - the players certainly didn't look afraid.

This will cost taxpayer money and it will be thrown out or, if they lose, it will cost taxpayer money and the defendant will be awarded 10k, of which 6k goes to the lawyer.

The State Police agreed with you and disciplined the officer. Nothing more was needed.

Such a soft and litigious society we have.

They took him off the game duty so he can’t watch his beloved Ags. That’s not punishment. Dude clearly couldn’t handle his emotions. He has a gun, authority and badge. That’s a problem.

Yeah I get your argument.

My argument is that Troopers need to be trained to use good judgement.

Because if they are this brazen on national tv then what are they doing at a traffic stop without cameras everywhere.

Has nothing to do with the stadium or its fans (ATM) he was working or the school the player (South Carolina) was playing for. Both are ridiculous.

I never defended the Trooper so your question shows you run on emotion instead of facts.

A lawsuit over a shoulder bump and a mean look is simply a poor lawyer's attempt at a little cash. That stupid attempt will cost the State of Texas taxpayers 10s of 1000s of dollars.

The TDPS publicly called out the Trooper before the game was even over and I'm confident that more discipline was applied behind closed doors.

I ask you, in your emotional state, what strict punishment for the Trooper, or dollar amount for the poor victim, would make you happy?

I agree with every word of that.

But none of that makes what he did assault. Calling that shoulder check assault is just utterly retarded.
