South Carolina onside kick style - is there an example of it being used anywhere else?

I was terrified going into an onside kick situation vs a Beamer (plus DeCamillis), and my fears were absolutely shown to be accurate.
I'd never seen a drop kick on an onside kick before and certainly never seen a kick where the method is to put side spin on the ball to make it hard to catch and move back into the field of play. It was brilliant scheme and brilliant execution.
I imagine we are going to see that a whole helluva lot more moving forward.

I didn't even know that was legal. It was pretty cool to see.

It's basically like trying to catch a slider. Brilliant stuff.

Honestly, I think a lot more technically has to go perfectly to get the bounce and spin that kick got.

I still can't believe Robbie didn't cover the ball. Did you have to post that?

Yea I was wondering about that - was that a 1 in 100 perfect version of it or is it something that they feel reasonably confident can be replicated? I just don't ever see it so it's hard to know.
