This is a huge gripe of mine. I’m not saying we should’ve become some kind of blue blood from one good run, but we absolutely did nothing to build on that run.

The BB gun incident also was a weir reflection on Martin’s tenure too. It always seemed like we never had a full roster, like he was always still trying to build a team like it was his first year or two despite being here for a decade.

Another gripe is we had several seasons with pretty solid conference records but fricked it up in the OOC so badly (usually against pretty bad teams) that we missed out on some potential NCAA bids and even NIT bids.

We definitely got snubbed in 2015-2016 though.

2015 was a snub

but you can't lose to some crap team early on because you want to teach a lesson to your best players, then be upset when you miss the tournament.

you can't run off players, then claim to be young every year.

he did so much wrong, but still has people claim that he shouldnt have been fired. (not referencing rooster in this case)

It was time to move on, for both parties.

But HFS his replacement is utterly awful. Paris is incompetent, at best.

yeah I don't agree with that. Its year 1 so time will tell but maybe I was just so ready for a change. I just won't knock a guy for year one with a completely new roster

There's no talent. But that didn't stop lsu or Mizzou from being competitive.

Paris is unable to adjust. Has no semblance of an offense. Gets dominated in the paint.

It's a woeful product.

Oof, Rooster usually I like your posts but this aint it. Firstly, Frank needed to chill out. Admin at KSU didnt like him at the end for his tirades and we slowed those down at SC. Secondly, the BB gun incident is a serious incident. If I got caught on campus doing that id get thrown out of school. Silva was lucky to not get thrown off.

Ray Tanner gets blamed for everything, including this case with the LB transfer (which he had nothing to do with). Tanner was right to get Frank to not sit on the sidelines and say every cuss word in the book at his players. There are ways of getting your point across other than that.

Frank could try recruiting worth a damn. We got Sindarius because UNC told him he would be better to go to SC. His recruiting after the final 4 was shite, and his coaching was too. Umass fans right now are going nuts that his awful son plays 20min a game.

Can't really disagree with that.

Guess perhaps maybe I let my personal relationship with Frank get in the way of seeing what others saw from their perspective.

That and the fact that I know for an absolute fact that Ray didn't want Frank, he wanted to keep Horn and he sat in his office and told me that, told me he didn't appreciate Hyman hiring Frank on his way out the door (he wanted to make the hire and he claimed his buddy Horn needed another year to be successful plus he claimed Hyman paid Martin too much money) .... and subsequently Ray made it very tough, behind the scenes, on Frank during his entire tenure.

Ray has yet to make a good hire ... Beamer is yet to be proven to be-so imho.

Frank was tough but his players loved him. There are definitely two sides to the man.

He shoukd retire and move back to south Florida. I told him many times to find a place near my place in Jupiter and to walk away from basketball ... but he's got one more crack at it. Still, imho, Ray was never supportive of Frank and even moreso he was a hinderance imho.

Ray likes to play strict hardass no wiggle room for anything ... it has cost us more than a few players in several sports, even when he was coaching baseball. Spurrier used-to get furious about it behind closed doors. He's got no love lost for Tanner whatsoever.

And fricking Charlie needs to-go as well.

That's okay, a big change is coming and we're going-to finally get another big time AD back in The Perch. Thank GOD Pastides arse is finally outta there as well. He practically ran half of the Garnet Guardian Society off with his bullshite and Tanner was his puppet in the process.

Quite frankly I'm surprised Frank put up with as much bullshite as he did. He didn't sign-up for it when he left K-St.
