Bruce owes Auburn and he knows it. They gave him a job when no other program would touch him. He has ingratiated himself into the O&B fabric and he's the best thing to have happened to the Auburn brand in the last 25 yrs. Auburn takes care of him, and his son is rumored to be head-coach-in-waiting. He'd be a fool to jet off to a rebuild job at his age.
This is pretty much it. I'd be shocked if he didn't retire at Auburn. We gave him a second life that he's really taken advantage of. He loves the school and the community. Typically, coaches are hired guns that will move on to the next best thing, but this situation is pretty unique.
He's also going to be 64 next month. I think he'll coach for maybe 4 or 5 more years and hang it up. I don't think we'll see as many coaches go until they're 70+ anymore. They're making more money than ever and I think those that have been grinding for years are starting to understand they have only so much time to enjoy their life away from the game.

We would’ve won it all that year without the Chuma injury.
We would have won it all if we had a competent ref in the UVA game who knew that you cannot dribble the ball off your own foot, then chase it down, grab it with two hands, and start to dribble again.
AU would have run Texas Tech out of the gym in the finals.

he’s never lost a first round game in the tournament

You state that Pearl has only made it past the first round once.
That’s not what I was stating and it’s hilarious how you quoted that stat like it’s impressive. Other than the one final four he’s only ever made it out of the first round.
And you want to name a building after him. Pathetic.

Has Bruce exhausted the cougar population on the plains? Looking for new hunting grounds?
