as long as the player didn't know about it. since au's compliance director used to work in the ncaa compliance section, do you think he discovered this loophole and informed auburn of it? they knew they were ok if a booster paid cecil as long as cam didn't know about it.

Yeah, I would like to see someone build up the courage to try to do a P4P and use the "Cam's dad did it" excuse. That's like doing something wrong and telling your parents "well so and so did it too".

There's no evidence that Cecil was paid. A quote from Joe Schad that wasn't given in context is not enough evidence at this point.
