Those 2 are already on the staff. Two additional coaches needed.

Not gonna say I'm super thrilled with this move, but I'm not against it either. Either DeBoer knows what he's doing and will hire the right people to succeed, or he won't. Given his track record I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he knows what he's doing until he proves otherwise.

According to sources, Nick Sheridan is expected to be promoted from tight end coach to Alabama's offensive coordinator position.

Good move IMO, rather move up guys on staff. Plus this is CKD offense, so not to worried. Oline coach more worried about JMO.

DeBoer is a good coach. Other team fans look stupid harping on this fact.

No idea if these will be good hires/promotions, but DeBoer is a very good coach.

DeBoer is a good coach. But Grubb has been his OC for awhile now. Can he break in somebody new that can call plays just as well?

This is a terrible hire lol:

He was named the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the 2020 season after DeBoer departed to be the head coach at Fresno State.

Sheridan was terminated by Indiana on November 28, 2021

Then why did an NFL franchise just hire Grubb to run their offense?

Why did Saban try hiring Grubb?

In 2016, before Sheridan, Lagow was the 23rd best passer

Sheridan as QB coach at Indiana
2017: 77th ranked passer (Lagow)
2018: 37th ranked passer (Ramsey)

In 2019, before Sheridan becomes OC, Indiana had the 41st ranked total offense

Sheridan as OC/QB at Indiana
2020: 94th ranked offense (0 offensive players drafted)
2021: 124th ranked offense (0 offensive players drafted)

Sheridan hired on as TE coach at Washington in 2022

In 2023 there were 15 Tight Ends selected in the NFL draft and none from Washington

During his coaching career Sheridan has not had a single player drafted that he coached.

Now look at Grubb in his time as OC without DeBoer.

This is akin to you asking why other programs bothered to hire 26 of Saban's assistants when they could have just hired Nick Saban himself.

Crazy that Bama is having to take more of a chance on coaches. Usually they are getting proven.

There’s actual substance to it being DeBoer’s offense and not the other way around. While they seem to work best together, Grubb was not too good at Fresno State on his own in 2019.
