There was a school outside Lincoln that won the state championship in Nebraska HS football that had 11 seniors sign with Division I schools this year.

Damn.

Even we managed to sign 6 Kansas kids.

Who is Rhule's agent? That guy convinced Nebraska to give him an extension why? Penn St wasn't firing Franklin to go hire freakin Matt Rhule.

Once a true blue blood, it's very hard to lose that status. Minnesota managed it decades ago. Nebraska managed it now.

And I actually like Nebraska...the stadium and all. True, there's not much around there, but that makes football even bigger. There's absolutely no reason for them to have been this bad for this long. Never will be 90s dominant again, but they should be competitive at least.

Alabama had to vacate almost an entire year because
you and I both know nobody gives a shite about vacates and it costs no money. Mizzou also had to vacate in the example I used but I didn't bother mentioning it. And how old is your example.

Again we both know what I'm talking about and we both know you are not going to admit it

Or perhaps you want to tell me Cam Newton never got a dime?

Vacating was only part of the punishment. We also lost 15 scholarships, was banned from a bowl game and had 2 years of probation. And that was AFTER we had to appeal and get them lowered.

And then they had to publicly admit they fricked the entire thing up, but it didn't matter.

So when you tell me the "blue bloods" are getting special treatment, as an Alabama fan, I frankly don't know what the frick you are talking about.

So again, are you willing to say Cam Newton got nothing.

hmmmm

The amount of corruption you are wanting to look past is just ridiculous. And you want to make it specific to Alabama, which i could really give a fk about Maybe you ain't no blue blood

I don’t doubt you.

I don’t have the chops or desire to argue your experience.

However, I can definitely speak to the Nubs and OU getting special treatment. It’s well-documented and undeniable.

What sanctions did Auburn get for Cam? And that's just one of many obvious examples I could pick that you might relate to in your little Alabarner cave but you'er going to just keep dancing around my direct questions and points aren't you? And not very well, Mohamed Ali you are not.

Done wasting time with you enjoy your evening

Missouri and A&M dodged a bullet there. I forgot about the whole “not getting a full piece of the pie” thing. Never would have imagined it would be a hundred million dollars.

Don't listen to the knuckle heads talking about special privileges for blue bloods when it comes to UTx. However, I can give you a real life example of how some schools could possibly have some pull, maybe.

Way way back in the day when I was a pup engineering student at UTx, I was a student in an engineering ethics class. I remember early in a Monday class a bunch of us having a great discussion about how a ruling in some game didn't quite go Texas way. The professor was listening and eventually got our attention. Most of us were just 20 or 21 and only knew that the professor was well known and maybe some big shot. The professor leans back and says calmly something like this...Yeah that wasn't such a fun game and to bad that we lost. I think we'll need to have a long talk about this game and the ruling at our next rules committee meeting.

This was back around 1981 and the professor was J. Neil's Thompson. He was a really cool dude and I think I appreciated his class as maybe the most beneficial to me. My dad also attended his class when at UTx. He was a big shot apparently, and the bolded part below may show how some blue bloods could possibly have special privileges, maybe.

quote:

J. Neils Thompson was a distinguished civil engineering professor and administrator at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1935 and his M.S. in Civil Engineering in 1944.
He was inducted into the University of Texas Athletics Hall of Honor in 1979 for his contributions to football and athletics administration.
Thompson played a pivotal role in the development of the university's research infrastructure, helping to secure the lease and eventual purchase of the J. J. Pickle Research Campus in 1946, which was originally a magnesium plant during World War II.
He served as a faculty athletics representative to the Southwest Conference and later became president of both the Southwest Conference and the NCAA, holding the latter position from 1977 to 1978.
His leadership significantly influenced college athletics at both the local and national levels
.
The J. Neils Thompson Centennial Teaching Fellowship in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin is named in his honor, recognizing his lasting legacy in the field.
