Why? You can be there in 2 hours or less. Drove back and forth many, many weekends while at LSU.

It's 80 miles. Where can you go from Knoxville in 80 miles, and what is there at the end to make it worth the drive?
More to the point, BR is far better off in this regards then Gainesvilee, either Mississippi school, and either Alabama school.

Way off if you're comparing a drive to NOLA to any city in Alabama (no offense meant).
And the closeness to Orlando hasn't seemed to help keep UF players out of trouble, has it? Because Gainseville itself is rather boring, and the UF campus police some of the worst I've ever seen.

I could get to the French Quarter from Bluebonnet in BR right at an hour goin 75-80 mph the whole way. Baton Rouge is not that far off. Made the trip quite a few times. Well worth the trip.
And NOLA deserves the hype it gets, unless you are socially retarded.
