He was and I assume still is the biggest opponent of playoff expansion
Hopefully producer Jesse can talk him off the ledge

He fricked himself with the Florida fawning.
I hear he's gone back to landscaping.

No one on earth except bean counters and network executives wanted this. We are all the biggest opponents of this.
I have yet to meet an actual fan in real life say "Yeah I cant WAIT until they expand it to 24!"
Even the most hardcore of expansionist realize how awful of an idea this is

Forget Pate. I need a wellness check over this abortion of an announcement.

I was saying this over the weekend. A few buddies who are big NFL fans were saying how they were excited about it that it would create a better line of games in the post season. And I responded by saying no actual College Football fan wants this. It will ruin the Regular season and will not make better competitive games in the post season. Where we are at 12 is enough. If they really want to expand then go to 16 but I thought 12 was the perfect number for now.
Only reason to expand right now is for $ and that is it. I actually loved the SEC Championship game. I used to go every year regardless of who was in it. Some classics. Will miss that game.

Leave it to the powers that be to milk college football dry.
Big games won't mean anything. Losing 2 games doesnt matter. Its basically taking the AP poll and shoving those teams into the playoff.
The bastardization of the sport will not be over until ratings plummet, money leaves, and the idiots making the decisions are ran out of town.
It was more fun living week to week and every game mattered than turning a game off because "Eh, its just the 2nd loss, still in the playoffs either way."
