If that is accurate, i stand corrected, why didn't all the other schools get probation? And where is phat Phil in all this? Funny that he tries to do the same shite and was unsuccessful and then becomes a rat and gets off Scott free. Did the ms assistant say anything about saban? But back to my original statement, saban has never been in trouble with the NCAA.

shite. you think I'm going to post that outright? I was hoping no one would remember that little fact.
yes, according to lang bobby tried to cheat. true. but saban is running the show, no one cheats without his approval. and to date no one can claim with any evidence that he has given his approval to cheat. in fact the opposite is true. there is evidence he doesn't approve of this sort of activity.

I have seen the story before. Lynn Lang gave an interview to Gary Parrish of the Memphis Commercial Appeal about the schools involved in the Albert Means case.
Lynn Lang claims he held a meeting with different college coaches to discuss the payoff required for landing Albert Means in the fall of 1999.
Lynn Lang claims coaches from Bammer, Georgia, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Tennessee attended that meeting. Saban was the head coach at Michigan State when that meeting took place.
Saban left Michigan State for LSU in January of 2000. After Saban left, Lynn Lang claims a Michigan State assistant coach named Brad Lawton approached him and told him Michigan State was willing to pay to get Albert Means.
Bobby Williams was the head coach at Michigan State when Brad Lawton delivered that message to Lynn Lang.

Actually Saben is a smart SOB. Start or donate to a scholarship fund for poorer, minority, or first generation Bammer students. Recruit has a girlfriend who fits those qualifications and there you go. Slick. Most recruits are going have a girlfriend, brother, cousin, ect who is going to fit into that box.
reminds me of some other innovations another pretty good coach used to come up with from time to time.

You and your mom can call it whatever you want.

quote:Why do you idiots bring that up? Bammer kept Mal Moore on their payroll doing nothing after he was fired as Gene Stallings' offensive coordinator back in the early 1990's, they kept Hootie Ingram on their payroll doing nothing after he was fired as their athletic director back in the mid 1990's, and they kept Joe Kines on their payroll doing nothing after he was fired as their defensive coordinator a few years ago.
Is Drunken Pat still on AU's payroll?
Bammer did eventually promote Malfunction Moore to their athletic director. Of course, Bammer is probably the only college in the entire country that would hire Logan Young's best friend as their school's athletic director.

Pat Dye was on tape about the cheating and still has an office in the athletics. Now he's gone and done all this hiring for his staff. Auburn will be back in the woodshed with the ncaa infractions before ya know it.

So in your infinite wisdom why were those 3 kept on the payroll? And why is au still paying pat tye dye?

Malfunction Moore walked into a Nashville hotel room while Logan Young was having a secret meeting with a high school recruit named Kenny Smith and his family. For whatever reasons Malfunction Moore never reported this meeting to anybody else. He covered it up. Part of the reason Bammer eventually went on probation is because they offered Kenny Smith an incentive package worth $120,000.
If you made a list of people who knew Logan Young was paying Bammer players, Malfunction Moore's name would be at the top of that list. Malfunction Morre is still the Bammers athletic director to this very day.

If I'm not mistaken, Saban left MSU in December 1999, before MSU played UF in the Outback Bowl (correct me if I'm wrong LSU fans).

Folks from Ky, Georgia and Tenn were in that room bidding too, ya gonna call them out too? We paid the penalty for that, its over with and we're not in Memphis anymore. Your team on the other hand, just handed the keys to the kingdom back to Dye. It wouldn't surprise me to see him on the sidelines with a headset tellin Cheezit what to run every play.

None of this matters, really. Bama just bought the NCAA investigators and infractions committee. That was taken care of before we bought Saban and our last recruiting class. We can get away with this shite all day long now.

Tye dye isn't really calling the shots is he? I thought he was a tuberville fan? He must have some good shite on auburn because I don't remember him being a great coach.

The thing to remember about the other SEC schools that were involved in the Means case is that they were warned off of Means by the SEC office. However, Alabama was never notified...an "oversight" according to then Commissioner Roy Kramer. I guess he was too busy reading the weekly faxes marked "For Your Eyes Only" from his fellow UT alumnus, Phil Fulmer.
These aren't wild accusations. These are facts.
