After publicly revealing his fear of the HUNH air raid maybe he could follow Green Bay's example and send his defensive staff to Frisco to study the 49ers offense.
He could also call Les and beg him for some tips on what to do.

quote:

In the playoffs, Kaepernick torched Green Bay for 181 yards, an NFL postseason rushing record for a quarterback, and two touchdowns. Packers coach Mike McCarthy then dispatched his defensive staff to Texas A&M to study the read-option that Kaepernick used against them. The Packers visit the 49ers in the season opener Sept. 8. He will, of course, try to go it on his own again and lose again.

As much as I respect Saban, history does seem to reveal that the hurry up spread is his kryptonite. This goes all the way back to his days at Sparty.

The biggest problem is he runs too much base defense. Last year he had linebackers and safeties covering Swope in the slot.

There's a reason he all of a sudden thinks the hurry-up is a 'safety' issue.

I'd imagine he'll figure out to adjust. The A&M/UA game should be great this season but I'm pretty sure Coach Sumlin will see a different UA.

He really needs to just study Chavis. That dude eats HUNH for breakfast (Oregon, WVU, A&M).

It is interesting that you say that because that seems to be the opposite of what has been happening. We are moving toward more situational packages rather than running pure base.

ETA You are right in saying it was a problem with a safety covering Swope. That was Sunseri who most of us think will not be starting next fall.

Any particular reason you attributed that quote to me? Stupid or an a-hole?

Will he? I'd imagine UA's defensive plan is going to be a lot different than A&M's offensive plan this go around.

Its certainly not what happened against A&M last year.

I forgot, Sumlin has won multiple National Championships. We should be skeered.

I think his first option will be to not turn the ball over three times.

That's right, get it in now while you can.

Saban's gonna arse-rape A&M with a herpes scab covered gorilla dick with aids.

You might want to make sure your boy JFF has plenty of Preparation H on hand - hell, you might wanna check to see if he's got burial insurance.

It will NOT be pretty.

One would think Sumlin wont trot the same gameplan out there this time. Its not like the fact that Saban will try and adjust has escaped him.

That being said, there really isnt much of a way to plan against the way Manziel played over the final six games. From the Auburn game on he was unstoppable.
