No, recruiting isn't an issue. We recruit at an elite level at about the same level we always have. We didn't evolve with how the game was played - especially offensively. Murphy remained pretty rigid with outdated offensive strategy and tactics and we fell way behind. On top of that his rigid implementation of old ideas put him at odds with stuff his elite incoming players had been taught and learning on elite travel teams/instructors for their entire softball career.
He had a bit of a come to Jesus situation after last season (even though they surprisingly made the WCWS), but pitching hasn't been up to standard this year.

LSU girls have two elite pitchers and mediocre hitting coach finally retired. I think we will be back in the race going forward. #1 class for 2026 too

LSU has signed some really good players from Metro Atlanta recently and have another one coming in next year from Buford that plays in my kids organization. Their staff gets rave reviews from all the kids who go down there for unofficials.

Beth has been signing top 10 classes for awhile but there’s been developmental issues the last 7 years or so. Beth made the WCWS 3 of her first five seasons and we just became a consistent 40 win, regional/super exit for a long time.
Young new hitting coach is doing wonders and Beth is a great pitching coach. 6 of the top 11 signed for 2026 and our two pitchers will be back next season.

She's a very good coach and kids love her program. The hitting thing was definitely their biggest issue but she made the right move and the change is gonna do wonders for them.

what's the word on Muprhy? for years LSU/BAMA/Florida were the top tier but feels like they are in a similar slump. Florida is well out of their slump with their recent hits on the recruiting trail with pitching.

That's because OU only has 1 Senior this year. Despite that OU is still #2 and will probably end up #1 again before it's said and done anyways.

LSU has six of the top 11 girls signed so that’s going to be impossible to upend LSU in that recruiting cycle.
Oklahoma gymnastics and softball fans are the biggest group of bottoms in the country. Going to be hilarious when you no longer dominate those sports with consistent competition lmao

So beating the SEC every year for the last decade in the finals in gym and softball isn't good enough lol.
Patty Gasso has reached Nick Saban level in that she can pick and choose who she wants. Except Patty has more Natty's than Saban already.

Really? Texas and Oklahoma State have been top 5 teams the last 5 years and all OU does is sweep them. OU swept #2 Texas and #3 Florida in the finals just last year. You don't have a clue the force of OU softball yet but you will.

dude we played better in the big 12 Texas OSU were perennial world series teams...... OU doesnt lose much in softball or Gym............. to any team let alone sec teams. We told you preseason OU would be the most talented team this year with freshman,..... and some of you thought OU was going to be down for whatever reason ? The last freshman class won 4 ncs. Its not just recruiting but if you wanna look at that I think OU just picked up the number 1234 and 6 and 16th recruits in the nation. OU has had 5 top 5 players transer out in the last 3 years and are killing it on other teams. Thats the depth OU has in softball. If you want to talk about coaching there is no argument. OU probably isnt losing 6 games in conference this year. I would say maybe 4 but lets say they did lose 6 .......... they would be like 50-6 with a freshman class LOL. Gymnastics has either been number 1 or 2 for the last 10 years..........we beat all sec teams.
