Agree. I wouldn't write off UF. The last 4 years the NCAA has paired UF with an SEC team in the Super Regional, it's always tougher to get through an opponent that knows you well.

Florida's bats came alive in OKC last year before running into OU.

UF has a good of a chance as any with their pitching.

I don't think UF's top two pitchers are as good at OU's, and UO's for sure. Ocasio is good, but not elite.

Walton has his work cut out for him. If he doesn't bring in another elite arm and improve his hitting lineup, he's going to lose ground to OU and the whole PAC12, and worse, potentially lose ground to FSU. The flip side is that he has the potential to put just about the entire eastern US on lockdown. UF is, hands down, the top program in the eastern half of the country, from Norman eastward. And UF has committed to facilities and so forth. So he could rule that half of the nation for sure.

Yeah but the ERA for UF in the super was horrible. I think it was at least 4x what it was going into the super. That's a recipe for disaster at the CWS, but hopefully that was an aberration.

I like UF's team but because the hitting is so spotty, I give UF zero chance of winning the CWS. It'll be bad if OU wins it a 3rd time in a row. Women's sports don't fare well when one program dominates too strongly.

Barnhill had her worst outing of the season in SRs.

But A&M had already seen her during the regular season.

If UF beats UGA in the first game, I'm very confident in saying they will make the CWS finals.

UF will likely get UCLA if they beat UGA and UCLA seems to be playing better than anyone right now. I'm not an expert with softball but I think Walton should go with three pitchers in those first two games, unless one has a no-no going. Not sure what their #3 pitcher looks like but I know OU was happy to go with their #3 for part of the super. Share the workload, stay fresh, make changes in key spots. I wouldn't hesitate to start Barnhill in each game, pull her at an opportune time for #3, look to close with Ocasio, or reverse.

If UF can get those first two wins, things open up for them considerably. I think winning those first two gets you an extra day of rest. But those bats....they have to wake up.

Don’t count out Florida though. Florida has a great record against PAC-12 teams.

Oklahoma almost lost their Regionals last year and came storming back to win the national title.

Anything can happen in OKC. Imo.
