A&M is an extremely well coached football team. They have some really good things going for them but I’m not sure they are an “elite” team. I think they’ve got some issues on offense.

Just some things I noticed in the State game. We aren’t where we need to be talent wise but we’re getting there. That said, Hutzler is doing a phenomenal job with scheme. I think Reed struggled with what we were doing a bit and he also missed some pretty good opportunities. I’m not sure he’s good enough to win a fight against the top defenses in the country. We thought LSU was an elite defense but it looks like they just kind of mailed it in last weekend.

Looking at it from a positive slant would be that A&M is still improving and hasn’t hit their ceiling yet as far as execution.

I thought this was another rebuilding year and that we’d go 7-5. Part of the fact that we’re doing much better than that so far is because our opposition has been much worse than expected, but Elko is still doing a remarkable job.
