Correct. Thank you. (Coming from a fan of the team that has yet to make the playoff). They are killing college football and the wonderful traditions of the bowl season but by bit and by a thousand cuts. People no longer “think around the corner”. It’s all about now and money. Shameful.

That has been said for as long as I have been alive (rankings).
Losing games is nothing but punitive.
Rankings are never based on the number of quality wins (as they should) but based on the quantity of losses first and quality of losses second. A loss is death (respective to a team who hasn't played anyone yet).
You are wishing for something that has been said and wished for longer than I have been alive. But undefeated is "sexy" even if it is without substance.
