y. I wonder how many Hawaiian familys could afford to quit their jobs and move the whole family to a rich little town in middle Alabama

Probably every single one of them if they sold their house

They would be able to get a mansion in AL

Blake Barnett

Possibly the only guy that qualifies.

(top of my head) most recently Cooper Bateman

Beat out by a guy younger than him. Had 2 chances to win the job. Has yet to prove he's a good QB. He was passed by multiple players (Coker, Hurts, and Barnett) and kind of refused to run the offense the way the coaches asked.

Bateman did not leave "in a hurry".

Is that the dude that had two separate families?

So he might get passed on the way out by Tua Tagovailoa?

He's a senior and transferred to Utah to be a WR. He doesn't fit your post in any way, shape, or form.

And he provided for both of them. Some deadbeat men walk out on one family and don't provide for anybody.

Seriously though, what does that have to do with him as a coach? He cared a great deal for his players and did literally anything he could and worked tirelessly to better them as young men first and athkerrs second. He would pull every string he could to get a bench warmer a college scholarship, personally make them highlight reels and use all his connections to call up coaches and recruiters and find his players somewhere. If a player called up Propst at 1am in the summer with a personal or family emergency, Propst would drop everything and make sure that kid was okay and taken care of.

Id rather that than a fake snake oil salesman like Niblett who only cares about himself and his image. Niblett hides behind bible verses so everybody will think he's some great guy, but he wouldn't get dirty or mess up his geled hair to save a players life unless there was camera crews and a microphone around to make him look good. Doesn't care less about his players making it to college. There are guys who started 3 years under Niblett at Hoover but we're a little undersized at their position, Niblett wouldn't provide a guy like that any tapes for highlights or make any phone calls on their behalf to colleges and coaches. Guys like that and their parents have to do all their recruiting for themselves because theres nothing for Niblett to gain.
But if you're a 5* Like Marlon Humphrey or an SEC caliber recruit, then Niblett suddenly becomes heavily involved in your recruiting process because it makes him look good and allows him to network with D1 college coaches. If Nick Saban told Niblett hed give him an analyst position at Bama if Niblett would screw over a player and his family, I have no doubt he would do it.

Get the ever-loving frick out of here. I'm not talking about some "internal investigation" like you motorheads did for the T-town menswear "hand-delivered no-stamp letter" bull shite. I'm talking about a real investigation by the NCAA, like we went through and we're squeaky clean. You guys are the dirtiest motherfrickers in the history of college football. Like organized crime...literally. We're just the only ones in the league with the balls to call you out on it now that Spurrier and Fulmer are gone.

If this were true, which it isn't, we haven't been caught because we learned how to cover our tracks from the GOAT dirty mother frickers of all time who happen to occupy the eastern side of the same state. Keep it down home, cuz!

Have you ever even been in the same room with Niblett or Propst? Ever know a single person that played for either one, or the parents of a player?

Just about anybody who knows how Propst and Niblett both ran their programs would rather have their son play for Propst.

One of the biggest bible thumping pair of parents I know trash Niblett any chance they get because of the way he "handled", or didn't handle would be more accurate, their sons recruitment. Kid started on the DL 2 years and was a great HS player, just a couple inches too short and a little too slow to for scouts to really look at him hard. Niblett wouldn't even answer a phone call or a text from Samford on the kids behalf. Recruiter came in from Birmingham Southern to Hoover to get tapes of the kid, Niblett kept him waiting outside his office for 2 hours before he basically told the guy to piss off because he was too busy to spare 5 minutes, and couldn't give the guy any tape because his film guy was busy making a tape for Marlon Humprhey for Bama (like they even needed it).
Kid wanted to stay home and to to Samford or Birmingham Southern, couldn't afford to walk on. Got stuck going to Delta State and only got an offer there after his parents harassed the coach for weeks to watch a tape, that they filmed from the stands themselves and made themselves.

Their older son was 3rd string, only tapes were from practice, ST, and old tapes from JV and freshmen teams. Propst edited a tape himself in his office and spent a lot of timing using his connections, calling and emailing coaches himself, and using favors to get coaches to look at this player, even drove this kid to LaGrange, GA to work out for coaches, signed him up for camps, until he finally found a small NAIA school willing to take a chance on him and give him a partial scholarship so he could afford to go to college.
