Some places immediately escort you out and don't allwo you to work out a notice. I had a job like that. They didn't even let me go back to my cubicle and clean it out.

It's not common, but it happens.

sounds like a really terrible place to work

Dude, the only thing listed that's "easily replaceable" were his written goals. Photos are for some people, but not all photos have copies.

Is this really that complicated for you to grasp?

It's not really complicated at all RB10....He found all of his belongings, they were "under trash" but they weren't just totally destroyed.

His feelings were hurt because he couldn't have his cake and eat it too. He benefited from a free education at Alabama where he worked hard and earned his degree in 3 years.

He receive free housing, meals, books, etc. and was trained and developed by one of the best coaching staffs in the country for those 3 years.

He enjoyed the experience many college athletes never get to experience - - - he was part of 2 SEC Championships and a National Championship season while he played for the best defensive coach in college football.

Now he wants an unconditional waiver to transfer and play immediately for his former coaches Kirby Smart/Mel Tucker at UGA. Sorry Mo, you've gotten a lot in life but you don't get everything you want.

EVERYBODY cleans out their own locker, you idiot.

What does this have to do with them throwing his stuff away? If you can take the time to carry it to the trash why can't you take the time to box it in case the owner shows up. It doesn't take a second longer, in fact, it's probably quicker. The only answer to that is because you wanted to be an a-hole. There's, literally, no other reason.

The best part of this is the Gumps in this thread would lose their minds if their employer did this to them, but since it's Bama football it's no big deal. You all are such a joke.

Keep telling me you'd be just fine with your employer throwing you shite away. This is a perfect example of what I just said above.

I'm sorry I can comprehend that something being made of paper doesn't make it meaningless or easily replaceable.

I get it, I guess it just seems to invalidate his complaints when he lists a paper with personal goals on it as something that he is upset about.

In certain lines of work, it"s the norm to be immediately cut of from office access and lead out of the building.

The process actually began on June 13, according to the letter, when Smith initially requested a “permission to contact” from Alabama’s compliance department.“I was immediately contacted by UA coaching assistants and advised I would no longer be able to “work-out” with the team,” Smith wrote.

He had 4 days. He wasn't working out with the team. If he couldn't find half an hour to collect his treasures, then they must not have been treasures after all.

One thing out of the five listed invalidates it? That definitely makes sense.......

He is free to go wherever he wants to go unencumbered by Saban or anyone else. He can pack up on Saturday night an travel straight to Athens if he chooses. What's you point? Do you think Nick Saban can prevent him from going to another school?

You think that sounds so cool, but eventually treating kids like crap will come back to bite you.

As opposed to letting the players run the show and make up their own rules? Because then you get this:

Then there was Trill. Then Allen and Murray left. Martell changed his mind and then the other recruits bailed after dumb arse tweets by a coach. Last week you had coaches getting suspended.

Tend to your own knittin baw

"In the letter, Maurice Smith said he met with Alabama head coach Nick Saban and informed him of his decision to transfer on June 16."

I mostly agree, though I do think it is shitty of Smith to wait until after spring practice to inform them of his transfer wishes. Doesn't justify the way they allegedly treated him, but neither side appears to have handled this very well, IMO.

eh, he was probably worried about losing his scholarship for the spring and summer term and was on pace to graduate this summer.

Read the fricking article before showing your arse. ...he graduates this Saturday.

Well, first someone would have to find a box, then probably another box because that one wasn't large enough. Then you have to label it, mark it for the owner, maybe even list out the contents, then you have to store it somewhere. Is there a room for Outgoing Football Players? Do you leave it in the hall? Do you go find some tape to seal the box, or just leave it around where anyone could go through it?

Or just throw it in a place where you don't have to think on it again, and where there's already a system of removal (trash collection).

I guarantee you that these are the same arse holes that go on and on about special snowflakes and how millenials suck pertaining to very similar situations on the OT and political boards.

HE FOUND HIS PERSONAL ITEMS - THEY WERE NOT DESTROYED!!!

Now, I personally feel like one of the janitors or even a fellow teammate could/should have bagged them up and set them aside for him to pick up at his leisure. That would have been the right thing to do. But that did not happen, and his things were thrown away after he failed to retrieve them on his own. But he found them nonetheless....he found them "under trash" - so he did actually recover his items in the end.
