Just make everyone sit one year. Fixed.

You have to pick. If it's amateur - then of course those playing for free can come and go as they wish.
A school makes a big investment in an incoming freshman, and most freshmen are NOT going to be starting. It is not unreasonable to give the school SOMETHING in exchange for that investment. Further, the NCAA has put scholarship limits on the schools, meaning that taking Kid A means that they CANNOT also take Kid B. Again, Kid A owes the school something for investing in him rather than in Kid B.

NIL and transfer rules as they currently exist will end college athletics.

That’s why it’s your fault for causing college football to become warped. If there wasn’t so much money and attention thrown on it, you might have true student-athletes.

Just make them sit a year before playing.
They can still go to school and work on their degree.

The actual easiest way is to make NIL deals be more incentive based.
