I did choose this thread b/c I see so many friends, and foes.
Tough day at work. Thinking about a job change.
Wal-Mart shareholders Meeting is this week, we are leaving town Thursday for Branson and will miss the worst of it. Kind of a "staycation" for the kids this year.
Mommy and Daddy have a couple trips planned this fall though.

calling him trash is a little bit over the top at this point. I'd equate what he did, in his mind atleast, as simple as finding a creditcard on the ground and using it. I don't think the death thing was something that was occuring to him in full context of what it was.
The Mcdonalds thing from what I was able to gather he was defending himself. That still has a court date that the people against Jamaar are delaying. Probabaly has to do with the fact that the person pressing the charges is not showing up for court. He's been a good student, a good player, and he'll be the good kid I know he is under the care of a great father figure like Houston Nutt, something he possibly never had before, or at least not at Florida.

Yeah that is it all good felons need a father figure like Houston Nutt. Hell Marcus Harrison was our team captain and got hit with felony drug possession and illegal firearms charges and I think he might have missed one quarter of one game.
This is really interesting especially since most felons can not get a job at McDonalds these days but they can knock people out in there parking lots or play football for a Houston Nutt team. Yeah like you said all good FELONS need a HOUSTON NUTT in their lives.

So the Mustain email was justified but calling Jamar Hornsby trash is over the rop?
Posted on 6/2/09 at 6:55 am to blackrose890
blackrose, they are totally different circumstances. Mustain was a kid who thought he was bigger than the program. He thought his spread game needed to be at Arkansas. He dissed Nutt, he was a poor teammate and he blamed his poor play on things other than himself. Jonathon Crompton received death threats in email last year. Mustain didn't receive anything like that. Yes, Mitch displayed the attitude, coupled with poor play, coupled with the fact he obviously sucks anyway, that his scholarship needed to be freed up.
Hornsby is not trash b/c he grew up without a father. He's never killed anyone. He's trying to do right. He was defending himself at Mcdonalds. do you think he just started a fight for the hell of it? No. He's got alot of good kid potential in him, and Nutt will help him acheive that just like he did with Harrison and many others. How many arrests have we had this offseason?4. How many has ole Miss had? 1. and theirs was the most innocent arrest of all.

So you're saying that anyone without a father has free reign to steal and fight whoever they want? He's not a good kid. He got his second chance and screwed it up.

There is absolutely 0 proof that there was an assault at McDonalds.
No victim, no brass knucks, just Starkville police trying to bs.

Maybe no proof...but logic tell you something went down.

1) Who is "we"? I dare you to answer who "we" is. This is the question you have avoided for weeks.
2) It's what you do after the arrest that matters. Nutt, Petrino, or any coach for that matter, can only do so much to keep kids straight. Coaches can only take so many preventative measures. But how does the coach respond? Does he turn his head?

Not when kid was arrested hours maybe days later, and the Starkville newspaper didn't print a story. The Starkville police department didn't release a report.
The first paper to run the story was the Clarion Ledger in Jackson, a full week after the incedent supposedly happened.
Jamar has pretty much already beaten the case before it has gone to court.

and he deserves his second chance without being badmouthed on the internet all the time b/c he committed misdemenor credit card fraud, and defended himself in a town that was angry and jealous he didn't commit to play football for them.

It was a felony, and he commited no assault in Starkville.
Innocent until proven guilty.
