It's going to be really funny when we have 20+ team super conferences that are ultimately divided into sub conferences and we come full circle back to where it all started with a bunch of 10-12 team conferences.
That is probably what will happen in these Top heavy conferences. Too many blue bloods in the same conference = too many egos. Some of them are bound to get disgruntled at some point, but it will be hard to walk away from the money..

I’m hearing that the Big 10 is going to add Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Cal, Arizona, and Arizona State. Word is that they’ll organize into “Pacific” and “Midwest” divisions, and the Pacific and Midwest division champs will play a championship game in Pasadena every December
I would think the BIG would take at least a couple of more PAC schools to keep USC and UCLA from being so far out on an island. The travel for USC and UCLA would have to become a detriment in the longterm so seems like they would want more PAC teams to come along as travel partners, but I wouldn't think the BIG would take that many.
I could see them taking maybe Stanford and Cal and solidly claim all of California as "BIG" territory.
What's funny is I think even though Oregon and Washington seem like a logical choice, I think the BIG will shun them as they bring no recruiting territory and just marginally more money than some of the other PAC schools, plus they are a threat to take California recruits in a big way.

It's the Big Ten's world, and the SEC is just living in it
The Big Ten is reactionary, they are trying desperately to keep up with the SEC. The SEC is the conference winning national titles by the bunches, and added two more schools that are winning titles as well.
Spin it how you want, but the bottom line is titles won.
Want to see who is winning? Name the last 6 NC Big Ten teams have won in the Big 3 sports (or any sports for that matter) and then look up the last 6 for the SEC.
Just to give you some help
Michigan State 2000 basketball
Ohio State 2002 football
Ohio State 2014 football
That is pretty much it for this quarter century.
edit to add- the SEC does not play hockey, or we would dominate that as well

Since the LSU posters told how many NC the SEC has won since 2000, I will give the Big Ten 25 national title winners in each of the 3 sports and the year.

The whole thing is a ploy so they can get back to playing a Big/Pac Rose Bowl.
