Atlanta is the cultural capital of the Southeast, and the only city in the Southeast (with the exception of Houston or Dallas, if you consider those Southeastern cities) with major national and international significance. Love the place or hate the place, that's the truth. Also, it has the widest diversity of SEC fans.

It is important for the Southeastern Conference to have their biggest game in its most important city.

Also, as others gave noted, it has the best facility this side of Dallas.

It should be at the best venue possible.

If that's Atlanta, then so be it.
The best venue is definitely Atlanta.

Wasn’t long enough they couldn’t even keep a roof on the venue for a basketball tournament
That building doesn't exist anymore.

I think the massive tornado had something to do with that.

Ah ok. Halftime show that zapped the power for whatever reason in NOLA. Both unexpected events. I never understood that ridiculous roof on the Georgia dome though.

I say no for selfish reasons alone Alabama borders Georgia and is obviously convenient for Bama fans. I don’t care if UGA fans outnumber other fan bases at all the SEC championship events. It doesn’t seem to stop Kentucky fans from dominating the basketball tournament.

Pretty much every SEC town should have a direct flight into ATL right?

3 hr drive for me. Not that I'll ever have to make the drive again apparently.

It’ll never be in a non-SEC state

Legion Field is a decaying old stadium that is smaller in a rough part of town

It’s not worth risking Atlanta as a site, a central location and the hub of the southeast, by moving the game around and giving the ACC a chance to move in.

ACC has already moved into GA in recruiting

Rotation isn’t an option. If the sec offered a once every two year or every three year deal the acc would offer an every year deal and sec is out of Atlanta completely.

The acc would love to grab the venue if they could.

Then move it to Dallas permanently. You’re welcome.

I know that won’t happen. Just shitting around.
