Back to original topic, OSU has a terrible track record against SEC obviously. The fact that urban Meyer and OSU have only ever beaten Bama a combined one time doesn't work in their favor if they do indeed play Bama. They are doomed with Nick Saban given a month to prepare

Most of the AP is proclaiming Ohio State as the de facto challenger for the SEC. I am not seeing it. Braxton Miller has terrible delivery and they have to overcome serious losses in their defensive front seven. Is Urban getting too much credit here? As SEC fans, do you think they are the greatest challenger in the field for 2013?
They are better challengers than Oregon. Stanford is a poor man's SEC team and Oregon isn't good enough to beat the Cardinal. Gimme the Buckeyes.

nope, i'll go with FSU. they have the athletes to compete with the SEC....assuming Jimbo doesn't frick it up

If Clemson beats Georgia I could see them making a run. Taj Boyd might be the best QB in America. Oregon is due to take a step back and there is no way Stanford beats an SEC team in the BCS title game lining up head to head playing pro style offense. Ohio State will end up losing to a stupid team like Wisconsin or Michigan State and get stomped in the Capital One Bowl by the 4th best SEC team. Maybe Texas A&M would like this chore. No better way to endear yourselves to the rest of the conference than putting the boots to tOSU.

Chip went out and recruited a bunch of monsters in the trenches. You know not of what you speak.

Bisonduck, I know you want to stress how Ohio State lost all of their D-Lineman and all that crap, but Ohio State's defense was terrible last year. To the tune of giving up 49 points to the Indiana Hoosiers terrible. I'm not one to put stock into unproven recruits, but they do have a top ten recruit coming off a Redshirt year to start at DE in Noah Spence. The defense may be worse next year, it could be better, but chances are Ohio State won't win a single game because of their defense, just like last year.

Spence and Washington are as talented as they get. So were Uko and Kennard for USC. Losing your entire starting defensive line is bad. That defense also started to get better by the end of the season. I just don't see them making through the big - 10 with a new front 7.

You overestimate the Big 10. We're talking about a conference who's champion was a 7-5 team last year.

I like stanford and oregon more than ohio state. Fsu and clemson have the talent but not the coaching. I wouldnt count urban out tho.

I am asking SEC fans if they really think tOSU is the best out of the non-sec field to challenge.
Doesn't matter what happens...some team is going to face the SEC in the BCS title game and get their azz waxed good....again.

the sec's biggest enemy is the sec. then the rest of those pawns merely fill up TV slots when the world isn't basking in southeastern football greatness.
