I think players should play by the same rules as the coaches.
The same financial limits.
The same transfer limits.
If a coach moves from one program to another he has to sit out of coaching for 1 year unless it is within the same conference - then he sits out two years.
These coaches knew what they were getting into when they accepted the contract
Coaches are state employees.
If you want that for your Auburn coaches, put it in the contract.
You have every right to do so.
Just don't expect a lot of coaches to be looking at Auburn favorably.
Your analogy is pretty weak.
Do you want coaches to leave after 4 years with the university? Out of eligibility?
You should add that to the Auburn contracts as well to go along with all of your bright ideas.

what the NCAA does it is what attorneys for players and other schools do given that the NCAA was told recently that it really had no authority to do anything that its members did not agree with and if more than a few decided not to agree with the NCAA they will have a competitive advantage that all others will have to follow to keep up.
Lol
You making stuff up?
How about a link?

Regulating college athletics is only the purview of the NCAA as long as all parties agree to abide by that regulation
So Stetson bennett can continue to play at UGA for another 7 years if he decides to disagree with the ncaa?
Student athletes can skip class if they feel like it?
Universities can play football players with 1.5 GPAs if it helps them win?
You are flinging shite at the ground. There isn't even a wall to see if any of it sticks.

Currently none of the things you listed would be permissable BUT only because no one has challenged them yet. Just 9 years ago Tood Gurley was suspended for 4 games for selling autographed memorabilia. 9 Years ago that was forbidden. That has changed. The things you list are forbidden now but they too will change if someone decides to challenge them. None of them are more basic to the idea of amatuerism in college athletics as not being paid to play yet we are now seeing that done in the light of day, although we still say it ain't pay for play we all know better. Nothing the NCAA has ever done will be done going forward without challenge and they will eventually lose all challenges because they have zero authority to do anything other than promote a basketball tournament.

Should NCAA reinstate the 1-yr Sit Out on Transfers?
It looks like they're gonna have to. The Portal is growing by leaps and bounds and destroying the amateur concept.
