Nothing new. Haven't seen or heard anything.
Car has no decals though, but that doesn't mean anything. Guy could ride a bike to class, my apts border campus.
The guy arrested in Memphis was charged with Capital Murder... apparently he was one of the guys. Other 2 still at large.

Give him the Death Penalty for murdering someone on a college campus. Plus the guy has a criminal past.

Give me a break Diamondawg. This guy is as guilty as sin. You really believe the murderer has a gun permit?

any motive yet? seems odd that a group of black guys unassociated with the university would run up in a dorm and shoot a random white guy

The victim is from Madison a suburb of Jackson and 2 of the 3 who have been arrested are from Jackson so there may be something from that.
I'm still guessing drug related. The guy charged with murder has a criminal past.

It is being reported now that the guy who was shot wasn't even the right guy that the 3 suspects were looking for... apparently they barged into the wrong dorm room and started shooting and ran off. Not sure of the motive for them to be looking to kill someone, or who they were looking for.

damn... how'd they get in a dorm anyway without flashing the piece at the front desk to let them in? At LSU its like a fricking game of Legends of the Hidden Temple to go in an elevator or get off on a floor.

That seems to make the most sense. I have a hard time believing it was random. I saw a picture of one of the guys they caught, and he looked really young - like 15 or so.

Just found this.....the underlying felony was selling drugs. Sad.
JACKSON, Miss. — Authorities said a man has been charged with capital murder and the sale of a controlled substance in connection with the death of a Mississippi State University student shot last weekend in a dormitory.
Mason Perry Jones, 21, of Jackson, was charged in the death of 21-year-old John Sanderson, university police said.
For a capital murder charge, there must be an underlying felony charge, and university spokeswoman Maridith Geuder said the underlying charge is the sale of a controlled substance. She didn’t elaborate on the charges.
She said Jones, who wasn’t an MSU student, has requested an attorney.
The U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Jones on Sunday in Memphis, Tenn.
Sanderson was shot Saturday in a dormitory on campus.
Authorities say two “persons of interest” are wanted for questioning.

That makes it even worse for them. I hope the get the most sever penalty there is.
How did they get in the dorm to begin with?

What I've been told 2 of the 3 suspects are students.

It simply means you are eligible for the death penalty. But yes, killing someone in the process of committing another felony like robbing a bank is a common situation that elevates it to a capital offense. In this case murder "on educational property" will elevate it to a death penalty case in Mississippi. I hope the prosecutor does not offer a plea, but he likely will and this will be a life without parole guilty plea.

If this is the case the guy charged with Capitol murder may seriously get the death penalty.
