Sounds like a good hire to me. Don't know why Auburn fans would be mad.
If anything, it's FSU fans that are bitter.

I was hoping Willie would get his old job back. I think he has probably learned a lot in the last few years and it is a shame that he wasn't given the opportunity to redeem himself.

they're probably looking at 9-3 next year
8-5 (4-4) then 3-9 (0-8) everybody knows Gus's offense is built on misdirection and gimmicks, it wont be long at all before the cow humpers turn on him and run him out on rails as they have done every coach since Dye

He's does run the 4-3, so it will be interesting to see how that impacts the current players, they've been doing the 3-4 for a year+. He'll have the whole spring and summer to teach them what he wants though, so there's time enough.
He is a 3-4 guy, He was actually blending the FSU D this year since it was transitioning. Regardless, most Ds are multiple these days.

Sounds reasonable.

It doesn't feel great, but assuaged by knowing UGA's biggest thrill in that same period of time has to do with Auburn losing a game. Go get your own NC matchup

Not sure why you believe this. There was plenty more we were much more thrilled about than watching the Barn lose. With that being said, it does feel good to get the DC that help beat them in the NC. Oh and congrats on losing the NC. You must be proud.

Every other FSU DC since Mickey Andrews has failed to get anything out of all of the talent in Tallahassee. He had what it took to get a National Title. No matter what you may think, it is a homerun hire, because he proved in 1 year what Todd Grantham failed to prove in 4. He can actually get results out of defensive talent.
Uh...stoops? And Mickey was DC until 2009. What an insanely idiotic thing to say.
Pruitt also inherited the most talented defense in the Country, so it's tough to say how good of a DC he was this past year.

I wish Missouri had used FSU's defensive set in the SECCG

I love that fact that not only did FSU just splooge their panties because they won the BCSC, but they multi-splooged because it was against an SEC.
Then just a little over a week later, an SEC team that doesn't even have a BCSC record steps in, sees one of FSU's favorite shiney toys, and says "Yeah, I'll have that."

UGA had arguably the most talented defense in the nation in 2012. Where is the National Title from that. Pruitt got the results. Stoops didn't, neither did Grantham.
Pruitt winning with other peoples recruits is exactly what UGA is going to ask him to do. If that is his track record with doing it, all will be fine.

Our winning a title had more to do with our offensive production. We arguably had the #1 defense in the Country under Stoops.
Argument = poor.

shite if anything Stoops hand cuffed that 2012 defense. That defense was elite and could have been even better if they could have attacked. He sat them back in cover 3 all year long. Such a waste.

Stoops and Pruitt produced top 5 defenses. Pruitt did so with mainly Stoops's players. Why did we win a title last year? Our offense was much, much better than in 2012/2013.

FSU was number 2 in total defense in 2012, it's not like he made a miraculous turnaround.
They also lost a TON of guys from that Defense.

I'm confused as to why this is looked at as a great hire
He has worked for Nick Saban, great DB's coach, won a natty, great recruiter, players love him, etc.

Yep, that offense was doing such stellar job against Auburn in the first half. If not for the defense stepping up when FSU needed it to, you would be on the board kissing AU arse for the next 8 months. Sorry offensive production is only 33.3% of a formula that it takes to win Championships, no matter how much you want to add to the percentage, it will not change.

It's definitely a great hire. Pruitt did a phenomenal job. But to say Pruitt > Stoops after one year =
