Not true. Alabama has won it several times with a combo of journeymen and converted defensive backs etc. You'b best have a defense and two physical, tough arse lines however.

Miles left Orgeron a NFL QB and handed him a recruiting class that had 2 4* QBs committed.

Danny Etling has a weak arm and will never start a game in the NFL ever. He couldn't get the ball to open wr's vs bama.
Both qb commits decommitted then recommitted. Narcisse shouldn't have been offered. He never had D1 talent. He got benched in Junior college.

Do you not see the irony in this statement. Miles gets shite for "not letting go" of Cam Cameron but Orgeron gets credit for holding onto to Ensminger and hiring an offensive assistant?

O went and hired Brady because he knew the need for change. Brady will be the de facto oc this season. Miles wouldn't budge on Cam nor would he try to help Cam by hiring a younger brighter mind. `O also has added to the shadow staff something Les got complacent on.

quote:

Miles left Orgeron Fournette & Guice and was a serious contender for Cam Akers. Not to mention Etienne was practically begging LSU for an offer.

And you're the type of fan who thinks having great rb's is key to the team. D line recruiting had slipped horribly under Les as did o line recruiting. Les was hell bent on recruiting guards to play tackle. Les didn't want Etienne and O paid the price. Les was a doughnut recruiter. Lot's of highly ranked db's,rb's and wr's but a huge hole at qb and the lines of scrimmage. That's why Bama mauls LSU every season.

quote:

Your responses are why the LSU fan base is torn. Instead of just saying, "Orgeron is doing a decent job" you have to tear down the previous coach to try and build up Orgeron. It's absolutely ridiculous.

There's a reason Les got fired. O has had to remake the team. LSU was going nowhere. It's LSU fans like you who don't have a clue of how big a job O took on.

Whoever has the best QBs will win the SEC. That is usually how it has gone the last 15 years.

It definitely helps, but there have been some great QBs who didn’t win the SEC. Manziel was an unbelievable college QB but never came close to winning the SEC. Stafford, Russell, Cutler, Mallett, Dak, just off the top of my head are some others who were awesome in college but never won the conference.

Actually, LSU’s historical winning % is .652.
Coach O has exceeded that and Les Miles did as well.

So I am not sure what LSU fans are expecting. Your history says you are going to win 8-9 games a year and lose 3-4. Recently you have been at least that good or better each season.

So effectively speaking LSU fans should be pleased with their recent history on the gridiron.
