Les Miles has a Natty and played for another. You think he’s a great coach? Orgeron has one too. They have one, because LSU is a unbelievably great job. Give Kelly a little time, he will have one too. And… without all the mediocre seasons mixed in. He will being sustained, consistent, excellence to LSU.

Les Miles was really good when he got the good players , put the best players on the field and then let them play. When he started playing not to lose he was done.

"dumb list"

It's the order I would use selecting a coach. Actually killer Kelly wouldn't make the list.

In year one, Kelly turned Chicken Shite into Chicken Piccata without a full roster and a RB playing QB that can't accurately throw a football over 5 yards.

Once JD5 announces he's going Pro and Walker Howard takes over as QB, it only gets better in Year 2..........

1. Saban
2. Jimbo
3. Pittman/Kelly
4. Leach
5. Kiffin
6. Freeze

You don’t judge on potential, you judge on results.

Curious where people would rank Chizik, Tuberville, or Malzahn on this list given they all played for titles and/or had undefeated seasons. Similar thing with LSU. Both programs are sleeping giants in disarray waking up right now.

I'm trying to figure out what Freeze did that was that special? I remember a great recruiting class that everyone knew he hired only the best hookers to get and one really great season but the rest was just kinda 'meh.'

Is it because he was OM? Y'all try to equate OM with Vandy but tbh, that's never been a fair comparison. (Well, unless OM posters are tossing some serious shade my way and then I might agree with that ;)).

A lot of it just kinda reminds me of the Mullen debate before Florida hired him. Everyone thought Mullen would do great at a big job because State didn't have a great history and overlooked that both Mullen and Freeze built a lot of their resume against really bad competition to offset conference losses.

Freeze could turn out great but IDK that it's as certain as everyone seems to think. I do think he can coach but the expectations at Auburn at a lot higher than he's dealt with before.
