A&M 2-1 vs Kentucky

8&4 is at home so maybe they'll feel generous and give their fans a couple wins.

But it's getting REALLY hard to pick A&M baseball for anything these days - they are having like some kind of institutional melt or something. I'll take them just to win one over Kentucky.

You sure about that Clark??

if they don’t win this series, they are pretty much done barring a miracle.

1-8 Record

@ Tennessee
@ Arkansas
@ Texas
@ Georgia

vs LSU
vs South Carolina
vs Missouri

It’s hard to find 12 more wins unless they start playing a whole lot better, and that only gets them to 13-17, which may not be enough with their OOC.

They almost have to win this series.. and they might need to sweep it.

eta: I think it’s possible they win the Texas series because of their pitching. We’ll struggle to score runs imo.

If I were the Coach, I’d consider moving one of the starters to a closer type role, and hopefully he can close 2 of the games.

G1 - Prager > Lampkin

G2 - Bullpen

G3 - Patton > Lampkin

or something like that.. either way, they better find their bats soon or this season is over. They don’t have enough pitching to win 5 straight in the SEC tournament.. no one does.

I had hoped for 6-3 at this point before the season started, so I’ll take 7-2 all day long.

You know this but all SEC teams are fighting for a 20-10 record to earn a national seed to host the regional. Heck, 19-11 in the SEC is probably sufficient enough.

If picking only 1 team to sweep, I'm picking Georgia right now.

I think Auburn is efficient enough on offense that - especially if our pitching issues manifest themselves - they’ll take at least 1.

They appear to have a really good team, so I agree that they have a good chance to take at least 1 game, but until you guys stop playing with your hair on fire, that's my pick.

LSU started 3-12 in the SEC last year, got to 13-17 and got in the NCAAT pretty comfortably as a 2 seed in the UNC regional. Obviously starting 1-8 isn't ideal but it's not insurmountable either. A&M's OOC schedule isn't going to be wholly relevant with the strength of their SEC schedule. LSU also started 1-8 in 2021 and go in the NCAAT at 13-17, despite getting swept at the end of the season to Ole Miss.

What’s the rule regarding weather for Sunday games on series that start on Thursday?

series starting Thursday cannot play games on Sunday. Game 3 can, however, start late on Saturday which may need to happen in the State/LSU series

While I agree it isn't insurmountable, I'm guessing you didn't have to face 5 Top 10 teams after you started 1-8 or 3-12. Even if you did, my point was that they will have to start playing a lot better.

They have the talent, or at least I think they do. I guess that is TBD.

eta:
So I went and looked at your SEC schedule last year.

3-9 vs Teams 1-10
3-6 vs Teams 11-30
7-2 vs Teams 31+

But you also won your last 3 and you also won 4 games in the SECT.

That made a difference, but going back to my original point, you had to beat the teams that weren’t ranked extremely high.. and Kentucky isn’t currently one of those teams.. so they need to win this series imo.

One of our players was taken out of the game with an injury and he somehow was able to get back in the game. How does that happen.

Temporary Replacement:
If a player is removed for a concussion evaluation, they may re-enter only in their original lineup spot, and the temporary replacement player may re-enter as a substitute in the same lineup spot.

eta: I’ve never heard of this, so it may not be accurate. Just googling.,
