I one hundred percent agree. People forget that people are in charge of this system, it’s not objective. The committee used to just fudge the top 5/10 to make the postseason work out how they wanted to. Now that it’s top 12 they’re going to adjust how they rank everyone, they’ll do their best to never put more than 3 SEC teams in the top 12 at any given point (besides early in the season when it doesn’t matter) and they’ll be fudging the whole top 25. This whole thing is a farce created so the rich get richer with no foresight as to the consequences on the sport as.a whole. And people are just eating it right out of their hand.

I hear a lot of “well every other sport does a playoff!! It’s time!!” CFB is the pinnacle of college sports in terms of ratings. Why change it to be more like the ones that suck? And I believe NDSU has won 8 out of the last 10 playoffs, so any parity argument is dumb.

Not necessarily. It depends on how they treat Notre Dame.

Which is why I wrote this

Im gonna go ahead and assume Notre Dame gets their BS treatment of being considered for the highest conference champion in these scenarios

Have to think rankings will change too....SEC teams won’t drop like they do now with losses to teams ranked close to each other. Like, they are not going to move crappy teams up just for winning anymore if it means they might make the playoff.

2012 was such an amazing year for the sec

Eh, I was not a fan of 2012

Right because Auburn did not field a football team in 2012.
