Any additions made to the conference (whether OU or Texas) will be designed to influence streaming. No one cares about “TV footprints”.

I personally like the potential addition of Oklahoma more than Texas (although seeing TAMU go back to mediocrity from their big 12 brothers makes me laugh). Either way the SEC should look to add these two teams to cement itself as the “premier conference” & guarantee 4-5 spots in a new 12 team playoff.

The streaming deal (ESPN/Disney) would add tons of money to the conference, whilst eliminating the need to schedule tougher out of conference opponents solely based on an increase SOS. I could see the other conferences struggle to recruit with the new SEC as a whole.

I’ll break it down for you..streaming is online accessible anywhere with an internet connection. Tv footprints/cable subscriptions are only available for certain areas/locations. Cable gets me KPLC (Lake Charles) news & not Houston or New York

For current Playoff standings yes, not for the future change to streaming & expanded playoffs

Majority of ratings whether it be by streaming out cable going to be regional. That is the nature of college football. Just because you can watch it via internet doesn't mean anyone would... Ratings still matter as it drives ad revenues.

TV footprint for college football is the driving force. That is why Clemson and Florida state are never considered

You could add Appalachian State and Virginia Commonwealth and the new 16 team conference would be top to bottom better than any 16 team conference that could be created. The number is not relevant to streaming and expanded playoff.
