Herschel was the better pure running back and Bo was the better athlete. Both were the 2 best to ever take the field in the SEC imo.

Id take Herschel over Bo to start a team. And Im no fan of leghumpers...but I calls it as I sees it.

I remember several tough games where Bo took himself out of the game because he was plowed by defenses...one was against UF in the second half, he threw in the towel.

Herschel wanted to be an FBI agent all his life, but because of his fame it wasnt to be. Id love to have seen bad guys try to get away from him I remember his frosh year and UGA was playing UT early in the season..and losing in the second half....Herschel ran the ball into the end zone taking several Vols with him or planting his cleats in their face....it was a feat I will always remember.

Watch a real college RB

I have no problem with you praising Herschel, but don't say Bo wasn't a "real" RB. If you really feel that way, back that up with some facts.

The better RB? Yeah, Herschel was better.

The better pure athlete? Bo by a country mile.

Both were "once in a lifetime" talents wh were separated by fewer than 10 years. Amazing.

Walker had many more carries even with one year less in the game (helped by an injury filled 1984 for Bo)

Bo had an insane YPC, not as many net yards though.

The key stat for me in the Herschel vs. Bo comparison is wins. Herschel never lost a conference game and won a national championship. Bo was a great player, but did not win on the same level.
