They're already starting their off season pep rally early because they have nothing else to do. Wish to God they'd made a bowl.
It'll start with "look at the coaches that Pruitt has hired. Best staff in the country". Then it'll go, "we have the best roster of players in the SEC, they just weren't coached correctly". Then someone will predict an East win, then an SEC win, then a NC. Pretty soon it'll reach a fever pitch among Tenners.......until they lose their first game. Then it'll be "fahr Pruitt". I know it is fun to pile on with the Troy jokes and all. But in all seriousness:
Troy >>>> Syracuse (who we beat, but who beat Clemson, who is going to the playoff anyway)
It isn't as bad as many of the other recent SEC losses to lower teams. Troy won 10 games likely 11 after the bowl. Carry on.

Yes it was. I had been out of school for a month or so. They came into the cubes where new staff sat and asked for volunteers to go to Montgomery for the week. That's only 40 minutes north of Troy so I said I'd go. Some project down there where they needed warm bodies to punch numbers into spreadsheets. I brought a buddy that went to Mississippi State with me to the game where we met up with my wife and her sorority friends. Stopped at a gas station when we got into town to grab some beer. He was shocked we could walk into the stadium with an open beer in each hand and one in each pocket. I grabbed a friend's student ID for him to get in with as well. I had no idea if we could even keep it close, but it turned out to be a great game.

Yea... we did lose to Troy in '04. Quickly went up 14-0 and then proceeded to fall apart. Set the tone for a really underwhelming season, pretty sure the game was nationally televised for some icing on the shite cake.

LOL I remember that big dude OL outrunning our defense for about 65 yards ! Seems like he had some moves too ! I was thinking as it tied the game, uh oh we're in trouble.

Troy didn’t keep lsu from winning 8 games a year this entire century. Who kept Tennessee from winning 8 games a year this entire century.
