Well if it's for a degree then they should have no problem taking a medical hardship or greyshirted. Neither make them leave the campus. It's all up to them on the path they choose. Embrace it and use a greyshirt as motivation to prove yourself to the coaches, or sulk and let it destroy your career as Garrett did.

Ftr I think your coaching staff is more at fault with the above.

Why are you blamin the fans?

It's your freaking school that has 4 former players spilling the beans on AU's P4P system. You know, the ones that said they got paid for the number of tackles they had.

Said that they were urged to change their major to make more time for football. Then when the player became disgruntled, he was paid by an asst coach to keep him happy.

Your current coaching staff uses street agents to recruit players to AU.

Your current coaching staff has had rumors swirling around for nearly a year regarding P4P.

WTF dude?

gotta remember who is bringing up over signing and why they are doing it.

1. uga- they are the last of the big 6 without a title and the true flagship is breathing down their necks to take their spot in the big 6

2. auburn- they need anything and every thing to deflect their paying of players, plus it involves bama so little bro has to get in there and try to take them down.

Well, GTFO, and don't be a fan. If you really believe you are the problem, quit supporting your school. Don't go to games. Don't watch it on TV. Tell all your friends to quit buying tickets to the game.

Guess they gotta do something to keep the man down.

Saban laughs at this.

AubieSpr96 is a dumbass.

He wants to blame the fans and the system for turning college football into the minor league NFL.

When in reality Auburn has 4 (FOUR) former players that went public with accusations that AU fricking PAID them while they played at AU.

One even said he was told to change his major in order to make time for football..... WTF?

It's really not pro football. These are kids playing a game in order to get a college degree.

This is comedy gold.

Totally agree. Some coaches are starting to panic. This won't stop Coach Saban one bit.

Will they name this new rule the, "whining coaches that don't won't to work to keep up with Saban rule"?

This is the problem right here. (I fixed your spelling btw. lol)

Coaches dont want to put in the work that they are getting paid millions of dollars to do so to fight the coaches that have the get up and go to go out and work their asses off they lobby to get rules put in place to keep the other coaches from being able to outwork them.

Pretty soon head coaches arent gonna be able to leave their office except for like 4 weeks out of the year.

Personally I don't have a problem with limiting oversigning in some fashion. So long as it is a rational rule that does not punish schools for kids who never qualify or enroll... and so long as the same rules apply to everyone

I am against paying college athletes for a variety of reasons (hard to limit, not affordable at most "1a" universities esp after considering all the sports you would have to pay, would lead to an arms race of diff conferences paying more)... but I could see a real argument for the school being obligated to mentor kids for up to six years if it took them that long to earn a college degree.

If the primary benefit for a kid that is signed and does enroll remains their ability to get a college degree? That would be a good thing... esp if that allowed football players etc to come back to school and finish their degrees after their football eligibility were used up.

All this is still possible with medical's. They get to keep their scholarship, finish their degree, they just dont get to suit up on Saturday's.

I agree with that FWIW

I do think medical scholarships are sometimes abused... but the kid getting to keep his scholarship and earn a degree makes it a lot less of an ethical issue than it would be if you just cut him with no options

And there has to be a line where a kid can lose his scholarship too... I don't necessarily mean not being an all star... I mean not even putting in the basic hours necessary to give yourself a chance to succeed.

Esp regarding a certain guy who lost his QB scholarship at LSU... when you become obviously out of shape (dunno how much weight he gained but it looked like 40 plus pounds)... then you are clearly not even putting in a minimum of effort

Isn't Richt a supporter of greyshirting? Didn't he just last week admit to greyshirting at least one kid per class with little known of it in public?

Why would he and UGA fans want to abolish a practice they use annually?

I totally agree with this. These kids have certain level they need to live up to and if they dont, then they dont deserve the 10's of thousands of dollars (more depending on the school) they are basicly getting payed to be there.

Medical's are a good way to take care of this if you are talking about a kid that is giving his all and just isnt cutting it. However a kid that "ain't doin' shite" needs to just be cut loose and let him fend for himself IMHO.

It's just a matter of them not being able to compete at the to of the SEC and they need a way to bring the top down to them instead of them bringing themselves up to the top.

I like UGA, dont get me wrong, but this is the truth. They need to be making changes at the top of its coaching staff instead of bitching about other team's recruiting practices.
