Coming to school last I heard.

16 - 469 - Auburn - Josh Anthony / C ( GA ) ATL - -

Depends on how much money the Braves can throw at him, he should take more than slot.

18 - 535 - Auburn - Niko Buentello / 1B ( JR ) DET - -
18 - 544 - Auburn - Ben Braymer / LHP ( JR ) WAS - -

Both signed.

Likely to come to school.

30 - 985 - Auburn - Keegan Thompson / RHP ( JR ) DET - -

Coming back, kid is a top 10 round talent. Over worked his first 2 years at Auburn caused TJ and him missing all of this past year.

quote:

34 - 1034 - Auburn - Davis Daniel / RHP ( AL ) CHC - -

Coming to school, told scouts that he was coming and it dropped his draft status.

Signed for cheap, number I heard was $5,000.

quote:

38 - 1127 - Auburn - Trevor Hillhouse / LHP ( GA ) PHI - -

Same as Daniel, turned down clubs to come to school.

That's cute, do you really want to compare that to what former SEC players make in the MLB?

Lol

9 years after she finished at Tennessee.

That's only 1/210th of what Max Scherzer got 9 years after he left Mizzou.

$10k more than the SEC softball player of the year

Hell, most pro softball players don't make that a year.

6 years, $1M ($166,667 per year)

The major league minimum is $500,000 per year

Thanks for the info

Anthony would be a huge "get" if he ends up at Auburn.

May see a quick improvement on the mound next year if Keegan is back to prior form...throwing him in with Casey Mize, Davis Daniel, Daniel Sprinkle, etc...some talent for Butch to work with.

Yeah Justin Camp was a 5th year senior so he probably signed for $5,000 or so.

Yea, if all that plays out Auburn escaped like bandits this draft.

Average NPF player salary is approximately $5,000-$6,000 for the playing season of June, July and August.

Q&A - Pro Fast Pitch

So, $2,000 a month. Significantly less than I make in a job not playing sports.

I would be happy after losing a good chunk of our bats from this past year.

I would guess the weekend would be Thompson, Lipscomb, and Daniel, with Mize, Sprinkle, Davis, and Klobosits coming from the pen. Mitchell should stay as the midweek guy.

It may be another two years but I truly do think Thompson, Bohannon and Sisson will finally get the Auburn program turned around. Like Alabama, it will be tough to become some literally every year tournament team and sometimes in the National Title hunt (like 1/2 the SEC) but it's evident to those that halfway pay attention to recruiting.

A lot of bats to replace next year, but pitching is what wins (or in AU's and Arkansas' case this past season) gets you beat.

DAMN! SEC player of the year only getting $10k.

Surely you realized by now that crap is based on stats and not who the actual best player is, right?

Lol that is not what it's based on.

Also, the terms of his agreement aren't out there, but it will be more than $10K.

They typically give it to one of the better players on one of the the better teams.

It doesn't matter Nick Senzel was probably the best player in the country, he wasn't going to win CPOY because his team was not good. Similar to Anfernee Grier. It's sad but that's basically how it works.

He's senior and has zero leverage and was a 10th Round pick. He could get around $100,000 sure...but also quite possible he signs for $10-$20k.

Look at fellow TAMU seniors Andrew Vinson, JB Moss and Michael Barash

He was not a senior. Those guys were only picked in the first 10 rounds because they were senior signs. He will command a bonus at or near slot value as a junior.

Obviously nowhere close to as good as Senzel.

I was just saying that the draft is pretty much only about sign ability and manipulating the pool. Who wins SEC POTY is pretty much irrelevant. No one in the world is picking Boomer White over Nick Senzel to be on their baseball team.

Yea, manipulating slot money is basically the equivalent of trading picks in baseball. The Braves basically manipulated their early pick slot money (plus comp pick slots) into 3 Top 25 picks instead of 1 Top 5 pick.

Ahh---this "argument" is my fault, then. I could have sworn Boomer White was a Senior, not a JR (a 4th year JR in fairness ha). So I was wrong about that and the other poster(s) are correct, he'll obviously get way more than $10,000. I know how the draft works just mistakenly thought he was a SR.

Apologies for my mistake.
