The Tigers have eight starter-quality offensive linemen
How is this even remotely true... the barn has some serious propagandist out here pumping up their personnel. Didn't we just hear they have 9 NFL calibre DL?
Well looks like they're headed for a guaranteed natty!

They may all have experience, but outside of Ragnow they all suck arse.
PFF is high on Froholdt, who played OL for the first time in his life last year. The OL got a lot better once Johnny Gibson took over at RG late in the season too. Not saying they will be top 3 in the SEC but I do think they will be drastically improved.

Great guy. I'm helping him get his inherited fortune out of Nigeria. I'm going to be rich.

State's OL is consistently ranked near the bottom (even by State fans), yet our offense consistently finishes near the top.

Someone said he goes to every game. I ran into him last year at the Auburn game,
Probably hoping to catch a glance at the best PF of his era:

They are able to rank a unit with 3 new starters on the line and a new face at every position.............Genius
Sounds like the reason they are ranked so low. This is a ranking of the shape that the unit is in as a whole (not just your starters) heading into the season..........Genius (jk, clearly you're not)

No, they don't. They finished near the top with Dak, and that's it.

I guarantee if TN's OL didn't have so many total starts, they would have been ranked dead last just out of disrespect

That is basically saying Smith with start at one or the other position and one of the other guys will start depending an where Smith lines up.

No way Bell unseats Braden Smith...maybe Horton but not Smith. Braden is arguably the best player on our team. This writer should know that.
They also have Smith as an "OR" at RT with Darius James. And James is an "OR" at LT with Prince Tega.
I think they know that Smith is 100% going to be a starter, but where whether at RT or RG depends on whether or not Tega can handle the LT spot. Which would bump James over to where he is more suited at RT. Which would bump Smith over to where he is perfectly suited at RG.
Although tbh, I'd really like to see Bell and Smith as the two guards, but I guess the coaches really really like Horton so I trust them.

Why is that difficult to believe? Not only do we recruit the OL as good or better than any school in the country, outside of 2 or 3 years in the last 15 at least that I can remember Auburn annually has one of the best performing OLs statistically in the country.
I'll help you out with the math since I know counting past 5 is difficult for most Bama fans.
We return three starters from statistically one of the best run blocking teams in the country last season (Braden Smith, Alex Golson, and Darius James)
Mike Horton has the LG spot locked down.
The freakish 6'7" 300+ of muscles athlete Prince Tega Wanagho of Nigeria seems to be winning the LT spot right now. That's a dude with a future All-Pro skill set right there.
That's two more
3+2 = 5
Keeping up so far?
We added two Grad transfers over the off-season.
Wilson Bell who started 18 games as OG at Florida State, and Casey Dunn who was a 2× All-American Center Jacksonville State.
5+2= 7
Let me know if you're getting lost.
As for the 8th guy I assume they probably mean Calvin Ashley, the 5* and future of LT for us who would start at a lot of schools this year.
Or one of the hand full of other 4* recruits serving as backups.... outside of the 8 guys I just mentioned by name, Auburn has another seven scholarship offensive linemen, Six of which were rated as composite 4* prospects by 247
So yeah... Not many schools outside of the state of Alabama with that kind of depth of talent on the OL. Without question Auburn is top 5 in the nation on the OL.

Auburn and Alabama will have the best lines in the SEC by far. Auburn definitely will and Bama will be as good if the RT situation works out and I think it will.

arikansas almost got allen killed. they also gave RW3 a 1360 yard season rushing and his backup a 682 yard season. Alao allen passed for 3400 yards. they weren't that fricking bad.

Literally the worst in pass protection in the SEC and in the 100s in FBS... But you're right, they weren't bad at run blocking.
