and what was your point? that it's possible to make up "facts" about your team?

I didn't state it as fact, I said "I don't know that the DL has ever......."

That's not a statement of fact.

Quit being a dick.

Bama has the best D-line this year..they are loaded and have tons of depth. Auburn and Ole Miss should be about equal

You aren't allowed to make up your own facts. Beaver said so.

LSU isn't in the top 6? According to their posters, they "improved" by losing their two defensive tackles from last season. Oh yeah, and one was drafted in the second round by the Chicago Bears.

Wisconsin's going to be a bitch for LSU.

In my opinion, no.

The whole idea of ranking a defensive line is stupid.

Front 7 is more appropriate because great linebackers are stuffing running lanes, rushing passers, etc.

I like leaving the LB's out of it, but that is only because DLine keeps Mizzou in the conversation haha

Thanks for the link Beaver.

Indeed, UGA was in the bottom half of the SEC in total number of sacks in 2012.

However, UGA (32 sacks) only had 3 less sacks than Bama and LSU (35) in 2012. The margin between #1 and #8 or #9 was very small that year, for whatever reason.

So if we want to say UGA had a shitty DL that season, which seems to be the point of your response with that sack stat from 2012, let's look at the other DL stats from that year.

UGA was tied with LSU for #3 with 91 TFL, behind SC and OM. Bama only had 86.

Quarterback hurries are where the stats get ridiculous.

Alabama- 46
LSU- 39
OM- 23
USC- 21

UGA- 116

That's not a typo.

UGA's DL + JJ were terrorizing qb's all day long in 2012.

If 2012 is an example of how shitty and inconsistent our DL is, then all the more reason to give UGA the benefit of the doubt on being in the preseason SEC top 5.

Good question. I'm not sure that it's fair to compare a 3 man front against a 4 man front. At Bama our three linemen are all built like big DT's and our OLB's are built like DE's.

Ladarius Owens, Angelo Blackson, Elijah Daniel, Ben Bradley, Jeff Whitaker, and Devonte Lambert. Carl Lawson will be back at some point in the year..its a veteran group that will be very good.
