Is “GBfTL” not the official name of our marching band?
Most of the people on here have no clue what GBfTL is.

BTW, it's TGBFTL
The Golden Band From Tiger Land.........
Semjase is the middle Bass Drummer in this shot.

It is very important as to the order that bands received it. The very, very best bands got it in the beginning. It can only be won one time. Only 34 bands have received it. Listed below are the first ten bands as well as every SEC band that has been honored, with their rank.
1. The University of Michigan Marching Band
2. University of Illinois
3. Ohio State University
4. Florida A&M University
5. University of Texas
6. University of Oklahoma
7. Michigan State University
8. University of Kansas
9. University of Iowa
10 Arizona State
19. University of Georgia
20. Texas A&M
21. Louisiana State University
22. University of Alabama
23. Auburn University
25. University of Arkansas
29. University of Florida
Florida is the latest band to be honored; received in 2024. Any SEC band that has received it is on the list. If your band is not on the list above, your band sucks.

Auburn's (API)Cadet Corp Marching Band went to Europe during/after WW1 and played Battle Hymn of the Republic marching thru the streets of Paris to help celebrate the liberation of France from Germany. So, that was 1917. They continued to play it off and on since then until it became a spirit tune as it is today. Not sure anything was copied from Georgia concerning that.
